my mom used to make me and my brother tuna with carrots and celery mixed in. pretty darn good. Also some hard booiled eggs mixed with the tuna is very tasty and a super protein component

My favorite is capers.  Also enjoy sun-dried tomatoes.

I buy the pouches of tuna and eat them every day for lunch.  I usually add taco sauce, yummy!

Some canned tuna ideas:  white beans, pesto, roasted peppers; broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes, vinaigrette; green beans, diced new potatoes, boiled egg, vinaigrette; spinach, lemon juice, EVOO; LF ricotta cheese, garlic, EVOO, whole-grain pasta

You just can't beat a can of tuna for convenience.

Im sure it depends on the individual, but eating tuna every day might put you at risk for high mercury levels. I too eat a lot of tuna, but have been trying to limit to 3-4 times a week because of this fact. I like olives, greek dressing, red onion, and feta thrown in a pita - Mediterranean style. Oh and BBQ  & bacon bits topped with cheddar.   Mmm mmm

I was under the impression that "light" tuna was lower in mercury than "albacore" tuna.... So I have canned salmon as well.

In my tuna/salmo I like mayo, seafood sauce and chopped up hot peppers.  Sometimes I substitute creamed horseradish in place of seafood sauce and mayo.

I usually go with the 3 oz canned salmon for lunch.  Tasty add in:  1/3 can black beans, 1/3 can chopped tomatoes, couple of table spoons of salsa.  combine the four, makes a nice lunch in a bowl.

I also like substituting italian salad dressing made with balsamic vinegar and olive oil for the mayo sometimes.  Eat it on Triscuts. (whole wheat not much else)

x2.

a few others...green peppers, diced apple, raisins.

I mainly try to make it w/ tons of veggies, 1/2 can of tuna, and a tiny bit of mayo.

your assumption is correct in regards to light tuna.
extremely low levels compared to your regular canned albacore.
it tastes way worse but you can eat a can a day.

when you drain the pineapple juice out of the can, save it and use it in the tuna.  sounds insane but it's awesome.

i also like just doing brown mustard, but that is VERY dry.

I recently discovered tuna fish with dried cranberries, diced celery, and a little o'bit of feta. Nice change of pace and good on whole wheat.

i've always loved tuna salad with splend blend, hard boiled eggs and some relish. my NEW love is those flavored pouches...it comes with "recipies" but in all reality you can eat it right out of the pouch. Get them on sale though, they are a bit pricey.

Yes!!! Grapes, celery, a little bit of onion and some mayo. Sounds weird, but it's totally not! Walnuts would be good...

You have to be able to chop finely for this salad but it's yummy and healthy:  tuna, broccoli, cauliflower, red onion, celery, mayo - I either scoop it with celery or eat it on little pumpernickle crustinis

Some interesting ideas here - I'd never thought to put dried fruit (ie cranberries), grapes or nuts in my tuna but might experiment!

That sounds good.  One of my favs is like this:

1 egg
1 can of chunk light tuna
1 slice of Alpine Lace cheese
1 pita bread

Fry the egg and tuna in pan with olive oil as though you were making scrambled eggs
Cut the top off the pita bread and toast
Open the pita bread fill with the alpine lace cheese on the side and then fill with the scrambled tuna/egg mix.

These are filling but great to take with you on the way to work.  Sometimes I throw in a couple spoonfuls of steamed brown rice with it.

Similar to this, you can just halve and pit the avocado, stuff the two sides with a can of tuna, and squeeze lime juice over the whole thing. I do that and just eat it out of the skin with a spoon.
