Anyone doing this 9/5 (Olympic) or 9/6 (IM)? I am in for the Olympic, would love to see some BTers there!

Funny, it doesn't seem to be a popular event for BT'ers...very few seemed to race it last year. Have fun in the med tent! The weather looks great this weekend!

Last year was the first year for this race. Kathy G, Flying free and I did the IM as a relay. I really liked it. Great venue, fun race. I had thought about doing the IM as an aqua bike, but injury prevented it. It is a race I have planned for next year.

Even though I am The Fastest Runner In The Whole World™, I also have my eye on IM aquabike for next year. It looks like a great venue.

Good luck to all plymouth riders this weekend.
My husband & I did a 44 mile ride through Miles Standish yesterday (who knew there were hill is eastern Mass?), and we saw a crew fixing up the trails for the race.
Should be a fun one!

I did the olympic on Saturday. Second time around. Mix feelings about the race and Im not sure I will do it again. I was hoping that they would have improved on some things from last year. In particular course safety for the bike. I enjoyed riding through the State Park but I think the roads are way to narrow to have them open to traffic during a race. Especially when you have competitors riding in both directions. At several times it was apparent that racers were unsure if it was safe to pass because of the congestion on the road and the fear of oncoming vehicles. Beautiful area to ride through but I just don’t think the organizers paid too much attention to rider safety. Same thing on the run. At some points I didn’t see any cones on the road give drivers an indication that a race was going on. I was to face to face with a vehicle when I made a turn at one point. Towards the end of the run, people were just walking through the course and getting in competitors way. These are probably some major hurdles with doing a race in such a touristy area, but I really think more consideration should be given to course safety. I would hate to see a major incident ruin this race but I can see how it could very easily happen.
