Rode my longest ride ever today. 58 miles at just shy of 17.5mph,which I realize to many here is an easy day that normally includes running too, and some swimming...if there's time.
Felt strong throughout, some cramping despite emptying two water bottles, my monster profile aero bar sippy cup (the one with two cells) and my camelbak. Once empty, I ducked into a mini-mart and grabbed another 32oz of gatorade (I had put G2 inthe sippy cup to start with.. no more decaf for long rides)  Nutrition went well, I was hungry at the end, but I'm always hungry. 3 shot bloks every 45 min.

My Keester, however, besides neding more time in the saddle, seems to need more.... ??? I didn't know what so stopped by the LBS (right at the trail head) and asked the owner, a great guy (Truly Spoken... Milton, FL) He's always very patient with my dumb Q?s.  He reccomended either Assos cream or DZNuts cream.

My Q? is.. anyone prefer one to another? the DZNuts obviously is funny, but is it worth the extra 3 bones for a smaller amt, and how much.... should I be swimming in this stuff?

Thanks.
Bear

I use stuff called Bag Balm.  A bunch of BTers recommended it.  Bought it at a drug store. I only use it on longer rides.  Even in a HIM i'd skip it.  Whichever you choose, I think you can either do it pre-swim or in an IM it's easy to do in T1 since you're in a changing tent.

Assos is what I use for anything over about 50 miles. No chafing at all. Yeah, it's a bit more but no chafing makes it all worth it

Bag Balm is the best and best value I have found.

Time in saddle helps too. Saddles make a difference too. I have switched saddles around on my bikes and a saddle that treats me right for 100+ mile days on Bike A, busts me taint in cruel ways on Bike B.

I usually just coat the chamois of my shorts with some body glide before pullin my britches on...seems to work pretty well.  Did a century two weeks ago wtih no issues...

assos for me on all my training rides.

Bag Balm for races since it doesn't wash off during the swim. Both work well, I prefer assos but it doesn't hold up in the swim and that is the only reason I don't use it in a race.

Any ride over an hour and I use it.

I just Googled them and went to their site...interesting, never heard of them before seeing your post.  I just emailed them asking for an ingredient list.   I might give this stuff a try.  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks to everyone who responded,  I got some Assos and DZNuts so I could compare.  I used the DZNuts yesterday for 80, and WOW!!! What a difference!

It did tingle a little when I first put it on, which made me nervous... but it wasn't a bad tingle. Just a tingle.

So, Thanks again!  This place rocks!
