Master  1402   Cumming, Georgia |  Subject: I'm Sponsored!Funny thing just happened. My work is very supportive of me doing the Augusta 70.3 on Sep 27th. The CEO said that the company should sponsor me and I kind of blew it off as him making a joke. Well as it turns out he wasn't. We just ordered a custom jersey and I have $500 towards gear and nutrition. They are also trying to get a booth setup at the expo and plan to hand out some goodies. Hopefully it pays off for them. |

The company is CallingPost Communications. We basically deliver voice messages for non-telemarketing purposes. For example, if you have a tri club and you need to cancel/change practice you can record a voice message and we will deliver it to a list of members. |

I recently had a customer take a picture of me in my tri club uniform and send it to a couple of my bosses, noting all the logos and how my company wasn't included among them. Within hours I got calls asking how they could sponsor my club, as well as a sponsored entry to a local triathlon being held by another customer. |

My company is a big Tri sponsor... they are the title sponsor of the Los Angeles Triathlon. The company is VERY supportive of us triathletes. We are getting clothing and other support...but not a check for $500! Congrats! |

Regular 853 | Subject: RE: I'm Sponsored! My husband is employed by Alpha Natural Resources. His company sponsored the Scenic Mountain Tri in Richwood, WVA. All employees signing up as a team or as an individual got their registration paid and the hotel room was paid. It was a very well organized and friendly triathlon, and it got a lot of people interested in tris for the first time. jami |

When I got a group of women in our office to complete their first tris at the beginning of the year our company paid all the entry fees and the cost of race shirts... Was very surprised and impressed since it really was a side initiative - but it was a great experience and I know if I want to do something similar again I have the support if we can find room in the budget! Next time I think I would like it to be for a charity... |

The firm even did an article about me. After that, I applied for and was accepted on the ZOOT Ultra Team, which provides sponsorship and discount support which is very generous. The UBS deal was from my branch manager at the time. It never hurts to ask! |

Expert 764 | Subject: RE: I'm Sponsored! That's awesome! A local branch of my company got together a group of employees to enter a 5k. It was a big deal because most of the employees were/are extremely overweight and unhealthy. The company agreed to purchase shirts for the race. When the shirts came, they were 100 % cotton, and in huge letters across the back, it read: "1-800-[company name]" "We hire nurses" So embarrassing! |
