Subject: RE: This is the Good StuffMy regular roadie is from Braddock Heights through Gambrill Park (climb from ~ 1000 feet to ~1800 feet ) then down Highland School Road into Wolfsville Road into Meyersville, MD, and back into Frederick on MD-40. But this was a new ride for me... this is the good stuff. It will be a LONG time before I put my bike back on the roof rack, except to race. It's better than Backroads good. This was a new ride for me... with a guy who rides this area a lot. This ride was the country roads between Braddock Heights, Burkittsville, and Middletown, Maryland, generally south and east of MD-17 and Old National Pike (Alt-40 ). Some were one lane... some were hardpack gravel (but fine for road wheels ). Crossed over Catoctin Creek several times ... running alongside the creek a lot of the time. From my 'hood, south on Jefferson Blvd >>west on Teen Barnes Road >> north on Middletown Road>>> west on Sumantown Road >>> north on Harley Road >>> east on Bennies Hill Road, etc. Jimmy buffet tomorrow, then long run on Sunday, but I would set a ride up on Monday morning if anyone wants to ride. Generally Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings are my bike days, so let me know if you want to ride. Nobody will get left behind riding with me! Edited by jsselle 2009-09-04 8:33 PM
