Subject: RE: Referral for plantar fasciitisI have not used them for P.F., but Spine and Sports Institute in Maple Grove is very good with soft tissue stuff. I'd call to see if they do anything for P.F. first, though. When I had a mild case last year, I saw my physician and she prescribed some exercises for me. She also recommended Advil. Mine lasted a little over a week. Flared up like crazy in the morning, but not so bad during the day. She didn't tell me not to run, but just less distance. She even said I could do the same distance if I just broke it up into more workouts instead of a few longer ones. It has not recurred this year. One thing I'm doing differently is squats 3x/week. It has helped stabilize my knee very well (another story ), but when doing them I also raise up on my toes which works the ankles, foot and lower leg. I can't say for sure this has helped, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of the reason I've been P.F. free for over a year. Oh yeah, I'm about 6 pounds lighter than last year, too which helps I'm sure. Rich Edited by rhvonlehe 2009-09-05 2:14 PM
