I have a friend in town for the Lake Geneva triathlon on Sept 13, but she is bikeless. We are looking at some rental options, but they don't look very promising. Would anyone be willing to lend or rent a bike to us for that weekend. She's 5'3". I'm not exactly sure what that translates to in frame size.

Please let me know. And if we could borrow it earlier, that would be cool too because it would give her a chance to practice a bit this week.

I could probably con my wife into letting her road bike go for a week or so.

Ok that last post was supposed to come from me and not her, regardless, I'll ask and let you know.

I'm about 5'2", so if Robert's wife can't do it, i could probably let her use mine - it's an entry level Giant road bike.

Hi all-

I'm Melissa, the visiting friend.   I am really excited to be here.  I will be doing my first Olympic distance triathlon and the next day I get to volunteer for IMMOO.  I hope to see y'all out there.

Okay folks, I made the mistake of test riding a Fuji team RC...

I now have an incredible bike for the week.

It is kind of ridiculous.  Prior to this I have been riding my 15 year-old Diamondback Sorento...a MTB.

I am going to have a whole heck of a lot of fun...don't know how I will go back to my old bike after this.

Enjoy your temporary bike - and enjoy your time in Madison. (You might not want to leave here, either. )

She failed to mention that she crashed the bike during the test ride...

Can it be considered a crash if you are stopped?  It was more of a fall over/drop and I caught the bike.  I had a nice audience of tailgaters too.

The exact same thing happened to me on the test ride of my first road bike so don't feel too bad

Ahhhhh, you joined "The Club".  I think AmyJo and Deanna have seen of those from me.  So has Skavoovie when we were in front of the Endurance House ladies.  Oh, and my first Elkhart Lake ride in front of TriDDS, pseudoyams, and mutri (sgoehner, too??).   Ahhhhh, good times.
