3600

WU: 400 warm up free, each 4th lap is backstroke.

MS:
5 x 200 with 30 seconds rest between each.
Kick 200/kickboard, 100 kick on back, 200 easy free.
Repeat main set, with last 200 as cool down.

this adds up to 3400M, right ?!

WU is 400m.

MS is 5x200 (1000), then (200+100+200)= 500. Total 1500. Do this twice = 3000.

CD is 200.

400+200+3000= 3600. I guess it's a battle of semantics-- is there a separate 200 at the end or a whole extra 200?

but the 200 cool down is INCLUDED in the last part of the ms:

400 wu

5 x 200 + 200 + 100 + 200 = 1500

x2 = 3000

3000 + 300 = 3400

I know it's really not a big deal Tongue out but I was driving myself nuts adding it up and trying to get to 3600 -- I was making the cd the last part of the main set.

You were a lot closer than Tim Geithner would have been.  Wink

Then it IS 3400. Personally, I'd take whatever's shorter.

That happens sometimes.  Once in awhile I'll actually pull out the calculator to convince myself that I'm not crazy.

The "missing" 200 is for when you miscount laps

I looked at a friend's blog this morning and saw something that he did yesterday that didn't make sense:

47m138.00 miles16.60 Mi/hr

He did a 138 mile bike ride for 47 min. and had an average for 16.60 miles per hour.
What's wrong with this?

That's a typo which has been corrected in the training plan database. Do the workout as written.  Sorry for any confusion.

People can enter any numeric values that they want in those fields. There's no check to see if the pace is reasonable.
