Subject: Healthy Alternatives
I love food.  Every kind of food.  Fancy food, bar food, fast food, junk food, you name it, I'd eat it, and enjoy it.  I played baseball through college and when that ended so did my metabolism.  I went from a strong, healthy 175 lb to a very bad 215 lb in a short time.  This year I decide to make some lifestysle decisions and get back in shape. Baseball is out but who's healthier than triathletes?  So here I am, 165 lb and feel better than ever.  I still love food but have dedicated a lot of time learning ways to make what I eat healthy AND delicious.  Long story short (kinda) I was curious what you all did to eat well and not go crazy.  I have some ideas of my own but would love to see this post grow into a good discusion.  Thanks.

food is good, and good food, in my book, is "of the earth" and rarely in a box--that is my simple guideline when i consider what fuels my body best.  go for color and texture.  keep it simple and fresh when you visit the grocery.  oh, and dont forget the wine.

The only foods I crave are big on dairy products, esp quesadillas and nachos and cheese and crackers and chips and sour cream.  Gotta limit them or I get huge.  Otherwise, I'm happy w/ fruit smoothie for breakfast, salad for lunch, protein and veggies for dinner.  I make up for not having dessert w/ wine, so need to cut that out too as my metabolism seems to get slower every year.
