Subject: 100/8mm Wheel Input
I know wheel threads are common on this forum, but here goes......

I am looking to pick up a set of race wheels over the fall/winter, and leaning toward the deeper dish sets.  I am also considering the deep rear wheel with "not so deep" front wheel.

For those of you who have ridden or currently ride with 100/8mm (zipp 1080, blackwell research 100, or any others that I am not aware of...):

1.  Is it worth the aero benefit to deal with the instability on windy days?

2.  If a course has significant elevation (lets arbitrarily say...>4000 ft/HIM), do you avoid the deep wheels all together?

3.  If you could "do it all over again", would you have the same setup or go with something different?

Any other insight would be great also!!!!

Thanks......Chris

I can only afford one set of wheels, so I went with 60mm.  This way I can handle some wind, get some aero benefit and if I want, I can add a disc cover later.  I just worked bike check in at IMWI and saw everything!  Lot's of 40's,80's, some
108's, some disc's, and a lot of non aero wheels too.

i have 80mm flashpoints.  love them

this is florida so no elevation but there is plenty of wind.  so far i only had 1 day where it was so windy the bike was unstable but that was a very very windy day.

1 regret, i didn't go deeper.  i was looking at the blackwell research or grey 100 mm wheels.   usually in races i see pretty much everything.  most the pros here tend to use a 1080 front, disc rear.
