I just started wearing contacts and have not tried wearing them with goggles for my swim workouts.  Any issues with the popping out or irritation while wearing swim goggles?

I wear contacts with my speedo goggles.  I didn't have any problems.  Just make sure the goggles have suction seal.

Nah, you'll be fine. Been doing it for a long time. No issues.

Been doing it for 20 years.  Just make sure you have good goggles that don't leak and you'll be fine.  And once you do it, you won't believe how you could have possibly been swimming without contacts.

another affirmative here, i got contacts back in february (a 3 month supply and have yet to burn through them, i have decent eyes but not great) and i wear contacts every so often for a swim.  i would suggest dailys for swimming since when i wear mine i tend to forget i wear them and usually end up rubbing my eyes or doing something else while not thinking that dislodges the contacts.  anyway, ive had water in my goggles before and even a swim meet race where my goggles came off while i was diving in, and my contacts stayed put.  not a guarantee, but i dont think it will be a problem if you dont mind losing a contact or two every now and then (even though i havent yet - im sure if i had anything other than dailys i would lose them in a couple of hours).

Goggles with no leak = contacts with no problems.

goggles + contacts, another OK here.

I've even had some leaky goggles and it's annoying but wasn't detrimental to my contacts.

I have been swimming with contacts for 15+ years.  No problems, I have even swam with them without googles and opened my eyes under water a time or two and managed to hold on to them, although I don't suggest it.

So I no longer worry about it.  Besides, in all the time I have been swimming with contacts, I have only lost one 3 times, and I found two of them.

I found the bigger issue is that I mostly use glasses and only use my contacts for workouts, so if they sit in the car on really cold winter days, sometimes they are frozen when I get to the gym and that sucks.

I agree in normal pools, but in a saltwater pool, I opened my eyes for about 3 seconds and came out of the water with both contacts gone!

Heck, I swim in the pool without goggles and contacts and have never lost one. With goggles, I don't even worry about it.

It must be the way different people's contacts fit their eyes.  I've opened my eyes in our friends' salt water pool numerous times, and have never had a problem.

The only problem I ever had was I last fall I dove into the pool with goggles on for a pool swim tri > the goggles flew off, the contact popped out -- finished tri blind in one eye.  But that was a silly user error and otherwise I've never had any problems using my goggles + contacts.
