I am going to get a new Orbea Orca (hooray that I finally made up my mind).  The only difference between the 2009 and 2010 (besides graphics) is a that the frame can accommodate a BB-30 crank.  I am 128 lbs.  I have been told that I am not heavy enough to take advantage of the stiffness.  I tend to always want the newest technology, but I actually like the older graphics and the $500-$800 savings of the 2009.

Is it worth it for the BB-30?

nope

reduces your choice of bottom brackets too (or means you need a shim)

Thanks.  That will save me some bucks.  Now I have to deal with 2 other issues.  Orange, Red, or Black and more critically, Force vs. Red.  I wanted to do force, but they wont have any til mid October, so they are trying to push me to Red, but that will cost me another $500.  I am already over budget.  Is it worth it for the Red???

can't say $500 is worth it for paint...
on a Trek, you can have a completely custom paint job for less than that!

It's not paint.  Red is the highest level Sram gruppo.  It's lighter than the Force.

I think she means for the SRAM 'Red' groupset. If so, in my opinion, yes, it is worth it.

Save the money on last year's model and spend some of it on the Red groupset, IMO.

09 - Red
10 - Force

Just my opinion... spending someone elses money of course.

I would say no

good read

put on a red derailleur and weight difference is like 80-100 different, but all else is basically equal in shifting quality

article is a little older.. wrt #2 force has ceramic bb

Thanks for all the info.  I did go with the 2009 in matte black with the Red, except the crank.  I may upgrade that later, but Orbea has a surplus of FSA cranks so I put that on instead of another $300 for the Red.  I may do it next summer.  Now I just can't wait to get it and ride!!!! i will post pics when I get it.  Thanks to all for the help in the decision.  I couldn't be happier to be a SRAMer.
