Subject: My New Bike

Here she is... an '09 Roubaix Comp.  So new she even has plastic on the handlebars and sissy pedals (there might even be a reflector on there still).  It has been raining here NONSTOP for the last few days.  It's driving me nuts not being able to take her out.  Once she's broken in I'll ride in the rain but it seems just plain wrong to take her out on her virgin ride in the rain.

As it's an '09 and a 61cm frame (I'm 6'4") I got a really sweet deal on it.  An offer I could not refuse.

I test rode this and a Tarmac.  The Tarmac was nice but VERY twitchy and IMO uncomfortable.  Some people had written that they thought this bike was "squishy" and "soft".  I did not feel that at all.  However the Tarmac was VERY hard.  I suppose if I was going for podiums or racing crits I'd want the Tarmac but after 50-80 miles I think my back (a almost fully healed herniated disk) will appreciate the Roubaix.

After I came back from the test ride my wife said "There is only one thing that should make you smile that much and it's NOT a bike"...

Going from my old AL frame/carbon fork bike to this one was like going from a MTB to a road bike.  It was like night and day.

Still trying to think of a name... the wife suggested Minnie (as we got her in Orlando and she's black, red and white).  I'm not sold yet...

I'm hoping the skies clear up long enough on Wed to go out on the group ride.  Fingers crossed.
