pedals?

Well...I can give you some feedback on the Time pedals...because those are what I'm using.  I upgraded to the Time (RXS Carbon) pedals from a standard SPD-type pedal at the beginning of this season because I wanted to go with a larger platform pedal.  After riding the Time's all summer, it's been a love/hate relationship with them.  Somedays, they feel great and the clipping in/out is flawless.  But other times, it's been nothing but frustrating. 

That being said, I've been seriously looking at the LOOK Keo Sprint pedals and will likely be swapping out my Time's for them by next season.

If it is a good shop they should let you bring your bike in, put it on a trainer and try a few kinds.

I prefer the speedplay zero's personally.

I've always used look pedals and would recommend them to anyone, from my many positive experiences, on my mountain bike I run crank bros. I was just telling a buddy about the look keo easy, they are light inexpensive, and simple. The tradeoff is they only have 4.5 degrees of float, which is plenty for most folks, and they don't have a mechanism to adjust release tension.

I rode a bike they had in my size and was kinda 60/40 liking the looks better. I havent tryed the speedplay. The guy there said the same thing about the time pedals. He rode on some all year and he said his unclipping was very inconsistent. If I get the looks which ones should I go with without breaking the bank.

Not an expert on LOOK pedals, but I've read and been told that the KEO Sprints are supposedly the "best bang for the buck"...so those are what I'll probably go with. 

Yeah, initially I liked the Time pedals just fine...but after months of using them, I just keep getting more and more frustrated.   However, my problems are with clipping IN, not out.  I can clip out easy enough...but clipping in has becoming increasingly more difficult and pedal never "hangs" like it should to ease clipping in. 

I currently use Look and was considering switching to Speedplay if I can find a good deal. What is the biggest change I would expect understanding that the patform is smaller. Also, they sell grease guns for the speedplay, is that something I would have to get?

Agreed, I have time pedals and sometimes have trouble cliping in.  Getting out is not an issue
