My friends Mike and Jenny lost a combined 300+ pounds about 1-2 years ago. They just attempted IM WI 2009 just a few days ago. Here's their story:

These 2 are amazing. Truly amazing. Send them your love.

That was very inspirational!  It makes me want to volunteer!  Thanks for posting and for you and Pharmie volunteering.

I looked at the "stripper" post too-that was great!  You and Pharmie make a great team!

High fives to Mike and Jenny!

My wife and I watched the whole race, we actually were along the road by the water stop in front of the capitol a good part of the day. We watched the finishers for the last two hours, and what an amazing bunch of athletes, Really if you go 16, 17+ hours your really something. It's great to go fast and finish in 12 hours, but to hang out there for the long haul, Wow, really anyone one who finishes an ironman is truly a great athlete, I don't care how long it takes.

We started walking out about 5 minutes after the official close of the race, but I did see him go by and I for sure cheered him on. Congratulations.
