I think I've got the bike figured out, but I'm torn between 2 possibilities on hydrating for the run. First of all I'm a HUGE sweater. On any run over 30 minutes I have to carry water or I'll suffer for sure.

On my 2 hour run 2 weeks ago, the temp was about 82 and the humidity level was about 25%, I drank 20oz of Infinit and 45oz of water. I was still bone dry when I got home. I carried my fluids in a Camelback fanny pack with 2 10oz Amphipod bottles clipped on.

As an alternative, I also have an Amphipod belt with 4 clips so that I can carry up to 40oz on it. I've trained with both.

I've never been able to coordinate drinking out of those little paper cups during races. I always end up wearing much more than I drink, even if I walk. My stomach is also fidgity about anything but the Infinit when I run. I've tried... So I'm planning to carry just about all of my fluids with me.

Here's my dilemma, I live and train at about 6500 ft altitude in a very dry climate. It's been averaging over 80 degrees on my runs. My race is at sea level in Washington State which is much more humid. The Weather Channel predicts a high of 73 that day. I don't know whether to go with the Camelbak or the Amphipod belt. I *think* I might need less because of the cooler, wetter weather, but I just don't know. I'd rather not carry more weight than I need to, but I don't want to get dehydrated.

Any thoughts?

Can't you live off the course?  No way in a million years I'd run with the camelback.  If you want your own, then you could do the race belt supplemented with the courses stations.

I'm assuming they have stations every couple miles?

edit: I just read your post and paid closer attention.  You have to do what you have to do I guess.  I'd opt for carrying more if you can't handle what's on the course.  You don't want to be surprised half way through and feel dehydrated.  I wouldn't want to do it personally though.

Bring which ever is easier to run with you can always refill the bottles of your amphipod at the aid stations. I've done that doing 1/2 Marys or on my HIM.

That is a ton of water for such cool temps.  I have a fany pack type camelback that holds 45 oz and that gets me through 17 miles fine in temps up to 95 F.  Ya if it gets above 100 F I can see getting into more water than that.  In temps below 80 F my fluid needs drop markedly.  For the Boise HIM it rained all day and I only had about 12 oz of water for the run.

However, you need to meet your needs not mine.  Go with what will work for you, but at 73 F your water needs will be less than at 82F.  If you can get 4-8 oz of water at each 1 mile aid station and you run 6 miles in an hour, you are looking at close to 100 oz of fluids in 2 hours on the course without carying anything.
