Here is a question to any orthopedic surgeons out there.

I just paid visit to my orthopod following up on a healed injury and mentioned my Achilles is hurting - tendonitis. He suggested a new therapy called plasma rich therapy where my blood is drawn, spun and then the platelets are injected directly into the tendon. This is suppose to significantly speed up healing since there is very limited blood flow to tendons.

Has anyone heard of this technique and if so what is your clinical or anecdotal opinion?

Feel good time:

I just finished my first IM after just a year and a half of triathlon experience... yea!

Chris Canty and Aron Ross of the NY Giants just had this.  Canty swears by it apparently.

I've heard of this from both orthopods and people looking into the procedure. No first hand experience, but it is definitely out there in the mainstream, if that matters to you.
