Here's a little from our sponsor...an article about JAM Trisuits, why they felt a better trisuit was needed for ladies, etc. A little special history on the 'why's for BT'ers.
"When Juli and Michele, the founders of JAM! Trisuits for Women, first began competing in Triathlons a few years ago, they quickly determined that they preferred the comfort and ease of a one-piece trisuit. “I preferred the one-piece design because I didn’t have to worry about it riding up on me, like a two piece will often do,” stated Juli. “And I didn’t want to have to deal with putting on bike shorts in transition, or running with all that padding,” added Michele.
While they both purchased one-piece suits from well-known tri-outfitters, they were frustrated by the fact that they still had to wear a running bra underneath the suit. “Kind of defeats the purpose of a one-piece trisuit, in my opinion,” said Michele. “But there’s no way I could run with just one of those flimsy shelf bras that are in the suits---if they have a bra at all.”
So one evening, while on their regular training run together, Juli and Michele started complaining about their search for a trisuit that had all the features that they wanted. “For one thing, so many of the suits on the market were just unattractive---just men’s suits sized down for women,” stated Juli. “Most importantly, none of the suits that we ordered had a decent bra for running.” Then the light bulb went off. They turned to each other and said, “You know, if we want this, chances are there are a lot of other female triathletes out there who are looking for the same thing. Let’s make it!”
So the journey began. It’s been a long and interesting road to create the JAM! Trisuit for Women (JAM! Stands for Juli and Michele, by the way). Researching fabric, testing various prototypes, and on and on. But their combined backgrounds in fashion design and business, as well as their enthusiasm for the triathlon, helped them through the process. The website, www.jamtrisuits.com, was launched on June 5, 2005.
When you visit the website, the first thing you will notice about the JAM! Trisuit for Women is the bright color combinations. Lime green, bright pink and purple form the color palette for the design. The fabric is a 75% lycra, 25% spandex blend that is buttery soft and fits like a second skin, offering firm support throughout the body. And the design of the suit is very figure flattering, minimizing the waist. Best of all is the built-in compression bra for running. The wide elastic band is comfortable and resists chafing. And the strong compression fabric will support you like your favorite running bra. It also has a small bike pad with just the right amount of cushion for the bike ride that won’t hinder you during the run.
Finally! A one-piece trisuit for women that really addresses the needs of all three sports, plus lets you look good at the same time. Now, for a limited time, you can receive a 15% discount on the JAM! Trisuit for Women. Just enter coupon code JAMSALE05 in the checkout area of the website. You can also look for the JAM! Trisuit display at various triathlon events throughout the Midwest this summer. "
