Comments: Began with goal of hitting 8 min pace. According to the GPS, and google earth download, I was at 1:12 through 10 miles and 1:37 through the 13.1 mile point. There were a lot of hills in the middle of the course, with grat views of the bay, but the hills burned my kick speed, so I finished flat and steady with no ability to burn and get on the medal stand and in the money. Finished in 6th place. What would you do differently?: wear less clothes (I took of my jacket mid run) ![]() Post race
Warm down: walk jog to the van to get the camera for the group members on the podium. Walk out to the course to retrieve my hubby (he had a hurt knee) What limited your ability to perform faster: little early in the season for hill running, but it was good to work on the downhill speed Last updated: 2006-02-19 12:00 AM

1.5 hour drive to the race. Clif Bar and Gatorade for breakfast. 2 Carb Boom gels during the race, at the 5 and nine mile marks.
10 min slow jogging to the bathroom. Really nice bathroom facilities.
