Subject: RE: Galveston 70.3 as a warm up a good idea?Kona and Las Vegas are right at a month apart, and lots of top flight contenders (both professional and AG) do both races. Really, the answer to the question depends on your training plan and your goals & expectations for each race. A HIM can involve a few weeks disruption and derail you during a critical time, or it can be built right into your IM plan. The number of people doing Galveston has jumped way up from when it was the LoneStar race a few years ago. My guess is that IM-TX is a big part of the reason why. It would be interesting to know what the percentage of people doing both races might be. I know there's a lot! |
