Got up, ate some breakfast, drove the remaining hour to the race site. Parked, checked in, walked back to the car and changed into my outfit.
Event warmup:

Stood around for pictures. Seeded ourselves near the back of the wave.

Comments:

Stayed with GmrGirl since we were doing this race together.
What would you do differently?:

This was a fun event. I don't think I'd do much differently, but I would suggest a few changes to the race organization.
Post race
Warm down:

Scrape off as much mud as possible, then get hosed off by the fireman. Switch to civilian clothes to hang out for a few more hours.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Other people on the course.

Event comments:

Race tries to have too many people start at once so people get backed up at the obstacles. They'd be better starting 10 people each minute rather than 200 people each half hour. They could also slot the obstacles with time ranges (think swim lanes).

No lap or HR data for this race.
Course: A little over 3 miles. Took several minutes to get to the start line (even with wave starts) and then a slow jog for about a half-mile to the first obstacle (swinging tires). Pushed a tire aside and it swang back into GmrGirl who was right behind me (oops...). Ran along to the second obstacle (a cargo net obstacle). It was about 4' off the ground and 15' long so I stood up and walked across the net once I got to the top. Third obstacle is a smooth, inclined wall with rope assist and we scurried up readily. Fourth obstacle was a vertical wall with horizontal studs about 4' apart on the front side and smooth on the back. Dropped the 10' off the back side with no problem before jogging on to a water wall. Plunged into the cold water and stood in the cold spray waiting to climb the inclined wall. Next obstacle was a combination barbed wire and cargo net we had to crawl under. The net was high enough to stoop and I let the net scrape across my back as I walked through. A longer jog to the next obstacle, a smooth, inclined wall that we had to scramble over. A vertical cargo net to climb over and then a couple hops over the flames (that was fun) and then wading through the mud under the last set of barbed wire. Climb out the far side and slip the last 100' to the finish line.
