Thank you for keeping the handball jokes to a minimum. I absolutely kid you not ... I'm watching men's kayak slalom and the commentator just said, VERBATIM: "It's so important to be tight around the pole and go in and out quickly."
No truer words were ever spoken. |

![]() | ![]() Alright, well, as long as we are starting out the morning right: http://i.imgur.com/p3KyX.jpg I'll go ahead and say slightly NSFW (which you know is bad if I'M saying it) although I just had a huddle of female coworkers around my desk from showing this. Guys...be warned. Anyone think that's some fantastic placing of the scoring?

In future, i will not play words with friends while watching the events.Thirdly, what is that web site? This is what I wrote about it in the Olympics thread: The four pairs have been expelled from these Olympic Games. I watched one of the games in question (Indonesia v S. Korea) and it was pretty bad. This is the first Olympics that has used the round-robin rather than knockout tournament play to determine advancement and draws. This has created situations where it's more favorable to lose than to win (for oneself and/or one's country) as well as matches in which it's predetermined that one or both sides are going to advance regardless of the outcome. It's a shame. This unfortunate outcome of the format, and the lousy play, and these women getting expelled from the Games. I don't know about China or South Korea, nor do I have privileged information about the specific Indonesian pair and this instance. But I can tell you, from personal knowledge of the way official sport works in Indonesia and other controversies, that I am pretty sure the Indonesian women did EXACTLY as they were TOLD to do, and would have had very little effective choice about it. |

She lost due to a timing error (15 year old volunteer timer) but to contest, she had to stay out there and wait. If she left the platform that means she would "accept" the decision. They took 45 minutes deliberating and didn't give her the gold. Very controversial ruling. Anyway, that 45 minutes was just excruciating. |
