Shermbelle - 2008-10-11 5:20 PM Not a big fan of the compression socks. I think 1970's basketball like Bill Walton
The announcers don't like them either.

They also hate wetsuits...

But, they like aerohelmets.

aarondavidson - 2008-10-11 3:22 PM Everyone thought compression would be big this past year, it will be huge in 2009. I still love mine regardless of what all you compression haters say.

What's the idea behind compression socks?

yes .....

funny thing is take that 4 minute penalty off the splits and it tosses Potts right in the top 5. What a giant pain in the balls.

This 10K out and back on Alii is brutal with heat, humidity, and no wind. I was dying through here and as they said, there are little rolling hills that suck.

kmill23 - 2008-10-11 5:24 PM Michellie Jones raced Longhorn 70.3 last weekend though . . . but she didn't do the run.  Maybe that was the plan, because she smashed the swim and bike . .?

That was the plan.  She's injured.  Thats why she pulled out of Kona.  She can't run right now.

Yea, I kinda realized it was probably the plan after I thought about it a bit.  On another note, I saw her at the Longhorn Expo standing around chatting with some other pros, HOLY crap she is HUGE, she's gotta be 6'1'' or 6'2''  She's really tall.

But she's a toothpick!  I just wanted to give her a cupcake!

82 degrees???

With all the talk of how hot it was, I would have thought the temps were pushing 100+...

It's the humidity that kills you.

And add the baking on the blacktop would make it pretty miserable too.  They said early on that the lesser winds would make the heat more apparent today.

Thanks for clearing that up. I would have thought it was the 2.4 mile swim or the 112 mile bike that would kill me. Or the marathon.
