ATTENTION JOGO'ers:

It is that time of the week again.  Please post in my inspires what you have done.  If you have recorded in your logs or my inspires already, don't worry, it is all good.   I have no data or partial data from Darren, Chad, Brie, Ann Marie and Mike.

Good Gaud - I'm not even close to worthy enough to be a JoGo'er...  Remove me from this list please..

You need this. Already said consistency was a problem, so tough luck on that one! Tongue out

Sorry.  You cannot leave (for 30 days).  We are calling you out for accountability and consistency.  Get out there and give me 30 minutes of something today.  Tough Manatee Love!!  Quitting is not permitted.

Grrrrrr - what have I gotten myself into?

I'm at a weird place now... racing next weekend...don't want to overdue anything this week, but don't want to not do anything, as that will equal 2 1/2 weeks of ZERO training before a race... and I know that is no good.

Will do a couple runs, and a couple rides this week.  Not worried about the swim... .then it's race day Sunday... I can't wait!

Is the Expedition Manhalf your A race this year?  And it's August 24?  Might want to train through next week's race, you know?

I was thinking the same thing. If your training has been... er... inconsistent then you shouldn't need the taper.

Super special Manatee shout-out to Jayne and Chris, who rocked with 100% Jogo's for 30 days!!!

Does this mean that with my swim this morning I am 30/30? That's not good. I can't be done. Gojo is a big part of my consistency!!!!!!!

So when I "officially" met Chris this morning ... I really put my foot in my mouth ... (necessitating later, of course, to put his leg in my mouth Tongue out) I told him about how I stalked his clone but then realized it couldn't be him because this guy was a really good swimmer.

Good thing he has a good sense of humour by the end of the day (evening) I was stealing food off his plate. With my fingers. Then he stole some off mine and nearly got his arm bitten, too.

Also, he has booked personal swim coaching with me tomorrow at 2pm.

Not joking

Hahaha!  Good thing he has a sense of humour - and that he now knows stealing food from Her Yantiness is punishable by possibly losing limbs.

Very jealous of the swim coaching session!  Geez - between you and Jo, you two almost need to have a stalk-off.  I bow to your stalking abilities.

I should clarify ... I will be the one coaching him.

I don't care who's coaching whom - I'm still jealous - you get to be frolicking around in the water with some of the yummiest calves ever.   (He should be grateful for the swim coaching, he could use a little help Tongue out

I am going to forward this entire post set to him.

He had a good one, too ... when I told him my pool coach was Sheila Taormina, he said, "Well, she can't even swim anymore ... she plays horsies and swords!"

You better believe I'll be forwarding her THAT convo, too.

Ha!  You're starting an athlete war in Bali!  He'd better not challenge her to a swim race, she'd kick his butt... even if she were towing the horsie and had a sword in one arm while swimming!

(okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but I still think she'd kick arse)

Got up at o-dark-hundred again (ok maybe it was o-dark-ten) and while the pool wasn't completely empty there was no shortage of lanes. I am surprised by the emptiness of the pool for what I am assuming is a summer lull. As I've said before, the morning crowd at the pool looks like a scene from Cocoon so I am surprised by the lull as I don't think these folks are affected by the school year, unless they are all teachers?! Is anyone else exeriencing this? Maybe they are all snow birds and went back to the mid-west? I dunno.

On a mixed emotion note... we "lost" a(nother) friend to cancer. We knew it was coming. He was moved to hospice about a week ago. Paul was an aMAZing man of God. That's why I say "lost" in quotes. He really is in a better place. He was in our Bible study group back in Omaha. He was big and scary looking. Scary like Harley rider, shaved head, black t-shirt (seriously that's all he owned), loooong beard. But he was the sweetest guy you could ever know. Awesome smile. He'd help or give in anyway he could. He built the sets for our VBS every year. He loved playing softball with his wife and daughters. His wife always called him by his last name because it suited him better than his first name Smile  He lived long enough to see his girls graduate college and one get married. We'll miss him.

And I'm just a tad nervous. This will be my first full oly (because of the cancelled swim last month). This will be my third time on this course, so I've been running through the course in my mind. Because of our Texas travels this week, I won't be able to get to the course until Sunday morning, so no chance for a run through of everything. Although, I am going to try to get in the lake for a practice swim early Sunday morning (Race starts at 7:00 a.m., so it will have to be butt crack early). Two swim loops (of what I'm pretty sure is a short swim course, based on my swim time last year); two bike loops up and over a dam on chip seal roads; two run loops through a ridiculously flat run course through the campground. This course is made for me. (Calming myself down. Calming myself down.)

I'm sorry about your loss, TJ. (We have a guy kind of like that in my small group. He's an ex-con with about 20 years inside prison. Still on parole. A little scary looking, but I love him to death. He is just amazing. His wife was also in prison for 20+ years, and they met as pen pals. When she got out of prison, they decided to meet in person, and sparks. I love their story.)

Funny comment about your pool users. Our pool has lap swimming only two hours a day -- at noon and six -- so it's pretty busy, especially at noon, what with the water aerobics ladies churning the water up. Between them, the swimmers in the other "lanes" (there are no markers), and the wind speeds, I get a pretty good "open water" swim practice every day. LOL

For many reasons, but mainly because it closed out with a phone call from Mutti and Tina, telling me they loved me and good luck in the race (I am able to be here because Tina volunteered to go to Jakarta in my stead for a bit ... and she's even busier than I am, so so grateful).

Also that Sunday is my father's 100 days after death, which is deeply significant in the Javanese Indonesian tradition. They will be going to his grave to plant flowers, and they think my father would be very proud of me racing that day. Surely blessings and strength will go back and forth, and (SOB) they are going to arrive at his grave at the time I start the race.

Sob sob sob.

By the way, Chris's superhot wife Karis, her mother is also elderly and has Alzheimer's, about in the same stage as Mutti. We cried on each other a lot tonight, for real. In between me stealing food off her husband's plate (I sat between them, of course. Must have max pigletude exposure).

Sad. But also very lovely. I'll be thinking about you and your family on Sunday.

Sounds like an awesome race, other than the chip seal but you can handle that no prob! You've got this!!!!!!

As always, Janyne. You are amazing. I don't know how you keep up with us. Thank you for the work you do for our pod.

Go racers!!!! (Go me!)

ETA: And speaking of me . . . the lake temperature is 82F. Holy Cripes. I'm hot just thinking about it.

You'll be just fine - you've been training (I've seen your logs!), you know the course, you've been ON the course, and just remember - all you have to do is swim until you're done, bike until you're done and then get yourself to the finish line.

Today was the best day of my life.

As will I - love, hugs and {{TANGEMELON PRESSES}} to you.

X2!!!!!!! So cute! I have two boys so purple shoes were never an option.

LOVE that grin!

TJ - if you can't get purple shoes for your kids, get a rockin' pair for yourself!  (I had an AWESOME pair of purple boots until I wore them out)

Oooooohhhhhhh boy!

So I've been contemplating doing 2014 IM Boulder which WAS a 70.3. Well now for 2014 there is also a full IM option (link)

Apparently I have until July 17 to decide. This one is going to sell. out. fast.
