The bike frame saga continues.  BLUE does not have my frame yet.  They are offering me a substantial discount on a Triad EX frame, as in $750 below MSP.  It will only cost me $1200 for the frame.  No, it isn't what I really want.....and it isn't even a blue color......but at this point I am going to take the money and run.  Tim from Carytown is being super nice about it and told me they couldn't do a better deal for me.  I have a block of time off next Tuesday morning for my mamma so I'm hoping Dave can get my bike fit done then.

I am not thrilled with this......but at this point I am going to take the deal.  It has been BLUE who has really effed up here and I am just wanting my bike.  Plus, it gives me a good bit of time to get the fit dialed in and used to the bike.

Ack!  I'm so sorry that this has been dragging on and On and ON!

Two things pod:

1) I have created a core challenge that will start on Monday. 10 minutes a day of core for 100 days.  Would be fun to have any of you join me :)

2) I just signed up for the waitlist for Age Group Nationals, Oly.  Thanks for the help and encouragement with that.  So if I actually get in maybe I'll meet some of y'all there.

The IM course looks "better" but it's also TWICE AS LONG! DS2 likes the idea of the HIM. Maybe we'll both do the HIM next year and volunteer at the IM, but it's going to be tough to get him to Denver twice in 2 months.

You still have a bit of time to discuss it and figure out which is the right option for you two.  Maybe try to sell him on the "it would be really cool to be part of the inaugural race" thing?

+1

You have a while to figure out what'll work for the two of you.

Very cool you're on the wait list - I hope you get a spot, it would be great to have a Manatee Mayhem party at AG Nats!

The LBS has had my bike since late March/ early April  This dragging ON and ON is  completely from BLUE.  I love the bikes.....but the company, not so much.  If I could walk away with another bike at such a fantastic deal I would......but I will get the Triad EX and try to be happy with it even though my heart was set on the SL.

Attention Stalkers (aka - live tracking testers)...

I'm heading out for a ride right now.  Check your MapMyRide App in 5 mins - click on "Live" from the home page, and you should see me riding.

If you are at work - you can go to mapmyride.com and log in - then hover over "My Home" and then click on "My Friends" - from there, I think you click on my name - you will be directed to my dashboard, and if I'm riding - I think there will be a button you click on that will load the map and you can "watch" me ride... and see my stats - ALL LIVE!

Hope some of you see this.  I really want some feedback on how well this works.

Yay!

I know, the commitment part is hard, but look at how wellyou guys have been jogoing.  If we have a group from the pod doing abs together, I bet that will make it easier.

I try to just do it as part of my run cool down--just sneak em in.  If all elese fails, you can knock em out right before bed. Or, perhaps, in bed, for the, um, creative;)

That is forking awesome!  OK, I'm going to spend sometime this weekend getting myself all stalk-ready.  I'm a complete technology dork, but I might be able to snag a teenager to help me.

Not entirely.  HHH is southwest of Madison in Mount Horeb area and Blue Mounds State Park.  When I say west of Madison, I mean Middleton, Waunakee, etc.

I want to do a Google hangout with the Manatee's.  To do this, you need to have Google Plus (free).  If you don't know, this is Googles version of Facebook.

Get Google Plus (super easy to have if you have a Gmail Account), then look for me and add me to your circles.  I will see it, and then add you to my circles... (creating one just for Manatee's).

We can then pick a day and time to make this happen.

Oh yeah baby - this is going to be sooooooo cool!  Can't wait to hear all the accents!

And your Google ID is....

Chad Musgrove

Sadly, while you are unique, your name is not.  Email addy please.

[email protected]

I went ahead and set up a Manatee "community" on Google+.  I invited Chad, Chris and Jen to join since I am connected with them already.

Anyone else, please feel free to join at https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/109453443945893510526

I set it up as a private community but if you want to change it to public, just say so.  (ETA, privacy cannot be changed but we can always remove it and create a new one.)

I thought we could probably do the Google Hangouts in the community?  Still figuring out G+ though, to be honest.

I tracked Skrat for a bit, but same, had a hiccup and he seemed to be stalled on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge...

TJ, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend.  Sounds like he was an amazing guy.

I went for a run along the river tonight.  Fachmie.  Lovely run, but I think I swallowed 4 lbs of bugs.  I tell you, I didn't need a protein snack after this run!!

I'm in. I've been thinking of doing this anyway. The bike fit guy had me do a plank for him. After about 20 seconds, he said, "Okay. That's enough. I've seen what I need to." I think I growled at him, but I'm not sure. I need some core work.

Oh ok. I was only thinking of the routes. Haven't really ridden much off of them, but think what you're saying should be ok as my brother has been around there for a bit. So have seen some of the rides he's posted. For all the comments on the difficulty of the IMMoo course, it's interesting how easily it could be SO much harder.

Oooooohhhhhhh boy!

So I've been contemplating doing 2014 IM Boulder which WAS a 70.3. Well now for 2014 there is also a full IM option (link)

Apparently I have until July 17 to decide. This one is going to sell. out. fast.

what-to-do-what-to-do-what-to-do.

I just saw this too...  but I think the DH would possibly kill me, and besides having NO hills around to really train on unless I rent a car every weekend and drive out to the burbs... I'm thinking of doing Florida next year.

Getting out of the city once in awhile isn't a bad thing ...

Believe me, I know - but not having a car, living in the city, and being less than 3 blocks from the lakefront trail doesn't give much incentive to go through the pain-in-the-assness of trying to get out to the burbs.

Having said that, I am trying to set up a couple of bike dates with a friend who lives about 60 miles away... in the hills... lots and lots of hills.

You aren't that far away from all the big hills around IM Moo.  You could even take the bus there and ride from downtown Madison.  Good IM training

Yes, those would likely be much better for many than the HHH ride I mentioned as they don't get too ridiculous. But still can be rather challenging.

Forgot to ask Mon before, where's the general area for the 60 miler?

Sorry, I meant that she lives 60 miles away.

Though for our bike dates, we'll most likely go to her old hood of the Crystal Lake area in IL.  Her DH took us riding there last year and there were hills galore!

It's just a PITA to get to when you have no car.

Oh, ok. That sounds quite nice for you. Lots of hills, but shouldn't be frustrating with the size as you can often see them. I get over there at times, but mainly just around the NE part. Might explore some more as I'm looking for more routes. I'll head towards Lake Geneva and the surrounding area more often. It's interesting how things get noticeably bigger literally at the Wisconsin border.
