Okay, just to get THAT image out of all of our heads ... by replacing it with worse ones :D

Chris made me promise not to publicly post the underwater swim video of him, but he never said anything about stills Innocent actually I did tell him about the Manatees (of course!) and said I'd be posting it here.

I'm pretty sure any of you can tell me what is SERIOUSLY wrong in these pictures ... (both sides, so this is not a one-side fluke)

He can kick my butt for all it's worth--but he is dropping his arm and it is completely straight instead of a nice bend with a high elbow.

Yes. YES!!!!!!!!! JUDI THE PRETEND-NON-FISHIE wins the prize!!! I *knew* there was something very fishy about you.

I have no idea what the prize will be, but it's going to be something from Chris. I will squeeze it out of him (or just sink my teeth further into his calf until he capitulates).

Me too! I have a gazillion cotton t-shirts! Tech shirts I use, and regular medals go on the rack where they are rarely seen.

When I was tracking, I used "my fitness pal". It's really easy to use, free, can be dated on phone and computer and tells you breakdown of food group percentages also. Ie carbs/protein/fat etc.

Speaking of, you should read Marathon Woman by Katherine Switzer. Aside from her Boston Marathon fame she did just a ton of work for women in sports.

Congrats, Mr. Didn't Have It In Me But Am Forking Fast Anyway Effort's always top-rate with you.

Right now my backlog of writing goes all the way back to late 2011, but I really do want to do a (pic-and-video) enhanced writeup of the time I spent with Chris Lieto ...

One thing he does on crap days (racing not training) is kick it up one more gear on the bike and keep busting it as long as he can. Something usually breaks through. Sometimes not. I know you'd changed the cassette and go by power anyway, it's just something I have tucked in the back of my mind for shorter races.

Thanks. And yeah, I tried things like that. Pushing harder up the hills, hoping to spark something. Spinning more in places, pushing a bigger gear, hoping something would get going as I've really been able to build up stronger as intervals go on this year. Especially with the bigger ones. Tried up to the end, but no go. Good to know that someone like Chris will do that too. It wasn't the speed so much as both power and HR. Speed is more taking that effort and putting it out effectively for the various types of resistance. Very course and daily conditions dependent.

WAY TO GO MANATEES!!!  Collectively, we were at <80% and they say that if you can do something good 80% of the time, then that is probably sustainable.

Special Manatee Congratulations to our 100% club: Chris, TJ, Jayne, Kate, Salty, Judi, and Kirsten.  Extra big flipper flaps to all of you!!!

Thank you to all for making the stalking fun and making my name into a verb!!

Last week one of our Las Cruces agents was asking me about triathlon and mentioned that he doesn't like the idea of riding on the roads for safety reasons. Later that day I sent him a link to an Xterra tri in his area called the Dread Mon. Today he sent me an email asking if I'm doing it. I told him I don't do off-road because I crash. This is from his last email:

You're the devil...

You seriously have me considering this.  One question though.  I can swim, but I have never swam distances and it's not like you can just stop and have a breather.  That part of it has me a bit uneasy.  Any suggestions, hints, etc?

So I replied with some ideas... but we may have a new tri convert Laughing

Ha! Actually they have a 6 year old daughter, which is part of the reason he's hesitant to ride on the roads.
