Did I mention that the winner swam just a bit faster than me, biked about the same, and ran nearly 3 minutes faster (~5:38/mi) ... and is 14 (FOURTEEN) years old? 0.0  At least he was ahead of me from the start. The other guys up there did not like getting run down.

Just got back from the gym.  9:45 isn't an ideal time to start a workout, but it's the best I could do with a clingy munchkin and thunderstorms all evening.  Got it done and that's what's important!

Random new BT question: are there such a thing as goals any more?  I looked in settings and couldn't find them.

Pondering Fox - 5km suffering - I hear ya.

Took my mental health day yesterday (Monday) my cousin and i went down to a place called Phillip Island about 2 hours away.  There we saw the penguing parade.  Little Fairy Penguins a colony of 32,000 about 500-2000 come ashore every night and waddle up the beach to their burrows.  A truly magical experience. 

I got my 1.30 trainer ride in the morning but was still feeling not quite right.  Today I feel GREAT!  I was going to run at lunchtime but new boss and we had a lunchtime meeting....but I've reshuffled my plan it all works out.

My family are safely in Greece visiting the Acropolis today.  39 degrees 102F.  Then they will head off to the island of Kefalonia where we met all those years ago.  The things that happen when you walk into a bar on holidays....

I recently read that the thing with the t-shirts is that sponsors love love love them!  I actually like them fine too.  For me, the tech tees get used less because I don't wear at tech tee out for coffee or whatever and they rarely fit well enough for a workout so they become do walking shirts. Anyway, the reason so many RDs include t-shirts in because sponsors want their logos on the shirts.

Oh no!  Poor guy, innocently walking his mom and some psycho comes and attacks him. 

Speaking of loose dogs....

What is the etiquette if you are running and some yap yap runs out to chase you?  That happened to me last week.  I didn't feel like the dog was going to bite me but I didn't want to stop running either.  The owner was yelling for the dog.  The dog was barking and chasing me.  I was in a quiet neighborhood and I figured if I got to the busy street, I'd do something to keep the dog from getting hurt but thankfully the dog stopped giving chase shortly before that. 

What should I have done?

This is super cool.  Gave me my warm fuzzy for the morning.  Good people here.

Are you going to visit or is it for a race? 

I'm not sure what you SHOULD have done. If it is a little yapper and I am in no danger, I generally stop and walk it back home to it's owner. Bigger and scarier may result in a more aggressive response (fight or flight) depending on the dog, area, etc.

I did not feel that I was in danger nor did I feel like the dog was in danger.  It didn't seem like that kind of bark, if you know what I mean. 

There's a thought.  I didn't feel like the dog was likely to bite me but I didn't want to find out.  When I was bitten, it was by a Jack Russell Terrier so I'm well aware that it's not the size of the dog.  It seemed more like a recreational bark than an aggressive bark but I was more interested in getting away from it than anything else.  I knew that if we got to a busier street, I'd need to get an actual plan (keep running isn't much of a plan).
