Have you tried them on? How do they look on you? Which one would you want to see in your race pictures? SHe posted pics of herself! They are really cute. Also the photobomber. Lighter colors tend to show race crud (snot, blood, sweat, salt, gu trickles, gatorade stains, etc.) and errrr ... highbeams. I'm going with the black. So embarrassed by the picture of me in the green one! At least E is cute in it. WTF, you look awesome in both pics. Massive self-esteem issues: I haz them!! |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors 2013: CLOSED (exc/ Pop Tart bribes)Originally posted by cdban66 Originally posted by amd723 Originally posted by cdban66 It is funny how priorities change. It wasn't too long ago that I would go to Wednesday happy hours that lasted until 5 the next day and then I'd head into work. I can't imagine that now. OK, this is completely unrelated to anything, but here goes. For many years, TW and I would have a 3rd of July party. Due to the fact that we got the 4th off (bankers hours) and then had to go back to work on the 5th, we decided that the 3rd gave us ample time to recover. So for a few years we did this and it got to be a bit uh, um, raucous. Or racy. Or out of control, I guess, depending on your outlook. More than one friend woke up with a hangover the next morning. Sometimes people lost stuff in the pool. And so on. Then a few years back we stopped having these. It probably coincided with me being a bit more attentive to my health. This year my intention is to awake early to go on a ride with the LBS at 6:45 am. I find it interesting how much life changes over time. Enjoy your 3rd of July! Ugh, those days are long gone. I'm barely functional on 7 hours of sleep. Sad but true. Enjoy your holiday bike ride and perhaps a few post ride libations. |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors 2013: CLOSED (exc/ Pop Tart bribes)Kirsten, I was thinking about your HIM run question ... I'm too lazy to go back and see if anyone answered it yet. I was lucky to catch some time with Frank Shorter and we were talking about every run having a purpose. This is something I have found important from the get go. What was interesting is that Frank said something along the lines of, "There are easy runs, that will make up the majority of your training, there are runs to help you get fast and there are runs to remind you that you are fit." So, he's totally recognizing the importance of the psychological side of running. From a physiological perspective, doing that long run at that specific distance probably isn't going to do much for you. As you know, it's waaaaaay more about the overall volume and consistency. But, if you feel like you need it, I don't think it will hurt. Just be sure not to push it or do anything silly. That's just my, non-HIM though.
On a just plain HM note though, I think it's very important to train over the distance often. |

I got up and at em today and got my long run in (with my cousin/bff) whom by the way finally got THIS delivered:
But anyway, I was thinking of how clever I've gotten about getting all this training shyte in so that I can partake in some 3 O July shennanigans tonight. Of course I have to get up and at em early AGAIN tomorrow so that I can get stuff out of the way to partake in 4th Of July shennanigans ...
I guess perhaps I am not yet ready to stop losing stuff in the pool? |
