· There are two ways to get home: in an ambulance or across the finish line!
· Pace Plan
· Easy swim - Find feet to draft off of.
· T1 (apply sunscreen to legs, neck, face; gloves and arm coolers for upperbody sun protection )
· Bike – Keep watts around 160 on the flats and under 235 on the hills; keep HR in 140 to 150 range on flats and under 175 on hills
· T2 (apply sunscreen to legs again; take sunscreen and apply to arms, face, etc. while running )
· Run – Run aid station to aid station (keep pace slow until turn around on Ali'i ); thank volunteers
· Nutrition Plan
· 2 gels before swim start
· 3 hr feed bottle on bike at the top of every hour
· Gel with water at the bottom of every hour
· water on bike (3 mouthfuls ) every 15 mins
