Subject: RE: WB area OWS??Assuming she knows how to properly don a wetsuit without harming the suit itself...once she exits the water and can focus both on getting to T1 and on getting half out of her wetsuit...she should reach behind her and grab the zipper cord and pull straight down, fully unzipping her wetsuit. (all while jogging to T1 ) She should then slip one shoulder out of the suit and then pull that arm completely out of the suit, leaving the suit arm inside-out. Then she should do the next arm the same way and peel the suit down to her waist. At this point she should finish concentrating on getting to her bike rack. Once there, from the hip, start to peel the suit down to her feet, once the knee is exposed, she can lift one leg up and continue peeling that leg out so that the suit leg is also inside-out. Then do the same for the next leg. If you do it correctly, the suit will not get hung up on her knees, ankles, or heels. She should NOT try to stretch the openings to pull her feet out...she could tear the rubber or a seam. At that point neatly put it in a pile so that nobody steps on it, get on shoes, helmet, glasses, whatever, and book it!!! She needs to try this before her race...taking off a wetsuit is waaaay easier than putting it on, but she needs to try it so she knows the procedure and knows how to do it without hurting the suit. In case she doesn't know, she really needs to make sure that when she is putting on the wetsuit, she knows NEVER to pull from the rubber side. Always pull from the inside of the suit. Also, there are undoubtedly videos on YouTube and I'm sure there are some videos here too. |
