I just got an email that they need three females from the early catcher shift to sit with one of the top three female pro's so they can do drug testing when they are done with the race.  Pretty cool.

Seriously? Never though they did drug testing for tri's, even with major races.

Dayum. No love. Volunteer coordinator never got back to me. Neither did my volunteer captain. I'm fairly to moderately unhappy with this process and I feel it's indicative of an M-Dot race. If they don't want volunteers, just say so, don't leave them hanging.

Looks like I'll be drinking beer and watching the Bears-Packers game. It'll be like `purses at 20 paces' with those two teams.

Edit: Of course that's between cheering on the racers all day!

I think it's indicative with the volunteer captain.  I've had great captains in the past.

I'll stop over later today and see if I can persuade someone, if you still want to SAG wagon, doot.

Sent you a PM in response to your PM about this.

Subsequently, I checked the volunteer page, and it says in the FAQ that if you haven't been contacted by your captain, show up at the volunteer meeting.

For any of you volunteers or spectators looking for some sustenance, the LUNA Chix will have a tent outside the Stadium Bar on Monroe Street starting around 2 or 3. We'll have LUNA goodies to give away. I'll be there at some point or another (although my priority is hanging with the donkeys). Stop by and say hi and grab a LUNA bar.

Got my bike section assignment for set up and roaming:

10 miles of the bike course from 8th St & S in Mt. Horeb to Bourbon & P in Cross Plains.  The van is loaded with the placard signs, cones, and one of those neat-o "race support" stickers for the car.  We have to meet at 4am at Firemans Park.  Ouch.

As for the volunteer shirts... apparently there was a problem so they only had XS.  Umm...can anyone say 'halter-top'?  They are going to try to get us the correct sizes by Monday (which is a bit late...and unconfirmed).  I will go down to the Terrace tomorrow to see if I can switch it out.  So, attached is what it looks like.

XS? Are you kidding me?  It is like a dream come true.  Send the cast offs my way.  I'm 4'10", 102lbs and I swim in all race shirts.  Can't wait to get mine!

Yep - XS - I can't get it over my head!  Not to confuse anyone, but at my volunteer meeting today they had only brought the XS.  Everyone going to the volunteer meeting on Saturday will get their requested size.

As for SSMinnow, if I can keep mine and get a different size on Saturday I will certainly give you mine.  Though you don't want to probably wear a heavy cotton shirt whilst swimming!

Wow - too funny on the shirts. Our captain said that all the sizes were down one, so that they didn't have any XXL, but he didn't say all they had was XS. Yipes.

Went there this a.m. and apparently all volunteer shirts were sized down, so they mostly had xs.  I wouldn't want to be the person that messed up that order!

I saw Tracy with a snazzy Donkey Team Support shirt - way cool.  Who put those together?  Were they iron-ons?

Hey Deanna-when you have a chance (no rush) could you add a long sleeve adult version?  J doesn't wear short sleeves, and I'd love to get him one...

Fortunately that got straightened out. I was afraid that I might get removed from the premises due to indecent exposure if I got stuck with an XS.
