What happened Aces? I am debating about DNS. My hammy's are screaming everytime I run, along with my knees. I haven't had a good run in almost 2 weeks. I get a mile or 2 out, and have been getting pain behind my left knee. I have been trying ice, and compression, and advil (or target knockoff).

I figure I dropped a cnote on the race, I am going to go down, and try to at least say I finished a marathon. I may be pushing that 5-6 hour mark, but I will finish.

That is the spirit...My first was 5:18, now I am shooting for 3:05-3:10 at TCM.  The full marathon does take a lot out of your bidy (and knees for that matter)...give it another week or so, you will hit your taper and then you will be itching to run!

One thing that I have found that works wonders for me, especially after long runs, is ice baths!  20lbs of ice in a tub with cold water, sit in it until the ice melts (usually about 20-30 minutes) and then take a hot shower...legs feel great!

Good luck

I have one 20 miler left this weekend that will cap off my 3rd 70 mile week.  If I'm not ready then I never will be.

Not ready. I am just hoping to be able to run half, and then walk run the rest. Knee's are still killing me, and the longest I have been able to run before calling it quits with pain is 4 miles over the past 3 weeks. Ice, and Advil are my friends.

I was talking to a friend of mine this morning, and he said there are people at the Expo who will tape you up depending on ailments for the race. I would love a cortisone shot, but will make it with my knee brace. I want to get to the half marathon distance, and then will start the run-walk routine. I am not going to sign up for another one of these for a few years until I get comfortible running. I have to take some time off after this, and heal up.

Not running the TC marathon (running Whistlestop marathon the following week), but willing to meet up with BT folks at the expo on Friday or Saturday (depending on weekend schedule).

I'm not running this yr, but based on past years, if it's chilly everyone will be in the dome and it can be a bit chaotic. You may consider picking a dome section and meeting there.

How about inside of Gate D at 7:15??  I would say a little later, but I want to make sure that I am able to meet up with my pace group before the race starts.

It looks like the weather will be great - low 50's to start, mid 60's by day's end!!

I will try to stop by. Look for a guy with baggy yellow shorts, and neoprene knee braces on both knees. I still don't know if I will be running in a black or white shirt.

I am planning to come and watch you guys.   Part of the plan involves breakfast at the Longfellow Grill on Lake and West River Road.  Is there a spot near there that you can recommend is good for cheering?  I'd like to find a spot that doesn't normally have a lot of people, so we can be the most helpful.  Where do you need us???

I could use a lift from Nokomis to the finish. Otherwise just show up, and cheer for us where ever you can.
