Hey can I join in also, Looks like I missed the first week so I will start with next Monday's weight. I dropped 43 lbs since October but have put a few back on, not liking it, due to summer and loss of focus.

I really need this!

Hello,

I'd like to join. I'm around 151 right now but I'll do an official weigh-in next Monday. My goal is 135lb. I have been the same weight for the past 6 months but I have dropped a size so I know that's good. But I have plenty more fat to convert.

I'll be back next Monday.

i would like to join.  I was 240 last monday.  Dr said need to do something about weight.  I am a true beginner in tri-ing.  I have in the distant past done a mile ocean swim.  Have run some 5Ks.  But never done anything on a bike in terms of racing.  My daughter wants to do a tri, so I am game to start with her.

Goal - start with 10 pounds in 10 weeks.

Oh Me too!!! I actually have gained weight since I upped my training- go figure. Yeah, yeah, everyone talks about the muscle weighing more than fat but the truth is my clothes don't fit a stitch better than they did before I did any exercise at all. My big arse just jiggles a little less.
I'll weigh in on Monday too if it's OK to join you all.

congrats on taking the first step toward better health. Find a race and sign up for it, it is a great motivator when you plunk down some cash towards a race!

Hello... if there's still room, I'd like to join in.

I've just recently started back to eating better and working out again, beginning with swimming. Over the past couple of months or so, I've gone from my highest weight of around 265 down to 252 as of weighing myself this morning--but considering I'm only 5'9 I still have a loooong way to go.

So... officially:

7/14/08: 252 ...so far I think this makes me the fattest of the bunch

Goal? Not sure... in 10 weeks? Maybe 10-12 pounds? So, 240ish?

Thanks!

7/21/08: 250 --so far, so good. Swimming 1 mile on Mon,Wed, Fri, and doing other activities including some weight lifting on Tue, Thur, Sat. Sunday is a rest day.

On Sunday morning I was at 249, but I think the salt from the soy sauce in my otherwise healthy chicken dinner Sunday night might have left me with a bit more water weight than normal. No biggie, though--still "on course."

Alright Troops! Time for the next weigh in!

21st July 2008

Weighing in 174 today.

Was 176 when we began.

Loss is about 0.5kg which is not too bad... I am doing a lot of strength training so some of that would be muscle gain rather than fat loss.

My aims for now are to take a better control of my diet, and eat less packaged foods!

Aim for the end of the 10 weeks is still 155-165

I know I am a few weeks late but if it's OK I would like to join the challenge.  I need to be held accountable to someone to make me stick to my goals.  I weighed in this morning at 196.4.  My goal over the next several weeks is 185-190. I am training for my first Tri Sept 27 and I am struggling with motivation.

Last Week:  312

This morning: 314

But I am giving myself a pass since this was my one vacation this summer with friends in Vegas that do not share my eating goals.  Snacked hard, trained harder.

I'm up a pound too.  Last week: 172 ... this morning 173.

I just did my first HIM last Sunday so I've really been slacking this week with dieting and training.  But that all ends today.  Today I start training for my October HIM and my November Marathon.

My goal by end of Summer is 164.

I'd love to join  (even though I'm a week late).  I did weigh in last Monday (264.5) and just jumped off the scale this morning (261).

I signed up for a sprint tri on September 13 and have been training since late April.  My times/speed/endurance have seen marked improvement but my scale keeps hovering around the 260 mark.

I need some accountability to eat better and push harder, and maybe some tips on how to get healthier as I'm improving my endurance.

BTW can anyone define a Clydesdale?  I'm assuming it's lager tri-athletes, but are there any set definitions?  Do all races have this as an actual category of racer?

Thanks,

Todd W.

I'm in too, even though a week late.

I will do my first official weigh-in this afternoon, but I am hovering around 235-240. My goal weight by 9/22 is 200. I know that's over the "recommended" amount per week, but I don't subscribe to that "theory".

My first tri is 9/14, Toyota Challenge (sprint) at Deer Creek SP Ohio.

Todd:

Here is the definition of Clydesdale for the Toyota Challenge in Ohio:

Clydesdale XL1 (185-199 lbs)
Clydesdale XL2 (200-224 lbs)
Clydesdale XL3 (225+ lbs)

From what I have seen, most races begin Clydesdale weight around 185-190.

Thanks for the clarification - I'll doublecheck our race and find out what category I should be in.

Here's my week 2:

7/14- 202.4

7/21- 198.6 (almost 4 lbs).

I'll take it. Can't quite feel it in my clothes yet, hopefully by next week.

Good Job Everyone! Keep up the good work.

I don't have a scale, but if I weigh myself tomorrow (I want to be able to use the same one at the gym consistently) can I join in?  right now I'll guess 145. I want to be 135.  at least...

Okay, hearing no objections, I will assume you are okay with me joining a week late:

7/21 @ 10:35pm weigh-in: 229lbs (a little less than previously thought)

Goal Weight: 200

I want to play!!

Weight this morning 266 lbs

I have a two sprint tris coming up Aug 17th and Sept 14th and might do 100 mile ride Sept 27th. 21 lbs lighter would make things go a whole lot smother for these to events. I know this ia a big goal for the time frame, but since my last tri on June 1st I have gained 10 lb. Yep stopped training and kept eating. WellI am back training and want to lose weight, get in shape and be healthier.

Riding bike in morning planning on 20-25 miles

Goal weight for Sept 22nd is 245. Summer of 2006 I wieghed 225 and was in best shape of my life. That is where I would like to get to again.

Since I am going to do this I will try to start using the training log to track calories burned while training.

dixrp:

Out of curiosity, what Tri are you doing 9/14?

I will be doing the Toyota Challenge here in Ohio that day with my two sons.
