Well,I'm not a big fan of fake food, so I've been actually eating bananas, nuts, a bit of cheese... snacky type food. but, it's not too realistic to stop and get my fanny pack out and have a little picnic during the race (although that's what i did during training!)

Thanks for all the replies. I've got some good ideas. You're right, I should have practiced this by now.

OK, here's what I know for ME about dehydration/electrolyte replacement that I actually learned from Bikram's yoga classes.... it's quite easy (again, for me) to OVER hydrate (I read that the ACSM has recently stopped giving water volume intake recommendations because of this very problem). You can drink and drink and drink, but if there's nothing in your body to hold the water in, you just pee clear. Good pee color is actually pale yellow, NOT clear. Anyway, that's only why i ask about electrolyte replacement. I have to stay ahead of the game, not wait until i have a headache. it's all over for me if that happens. Lately I've been doing a nuun tablet right after exercising and it makes me feel all alive again!
