Jer - what a great idea!, but unfortunately I'll be down south riding the Cochise County Cycling Classic.  One of these days I'll get up to your neck of the woods and ride with ya'll.  Maybe we can revisit this in December???  An off-season ride would probably get more participation since most every weekend in October and November has some sort of ride or race.

If someone wants to lead a shorter ride - leaving along the same route at 9:30am (perhaps giving those in tucson and Flagstaff and opportunity to get enough beauty rest to join us!) would allow you to mee the returning century rides about US 60 and still give you a 30ish mile ride.

No water along route except in Wickenburg and the start line. I suggest that you bring all liquid and nutritional needs along for the ride.

Cupcapes are always welcome!

How long do you think it will take us (average speed of the group)? Just asking so I can estimate the amount of water and nutrition necessary.

Great Idea!!!  Count me tentatively in... will have to see how I feel through the week.  That will be a little further than I'm scheduled to ride in prep for upcoming races, but if I feel good... then I'm in!

I'm bummed to miss this. I'm booked most Sundays.  If anyone wants to do  a long Saturday ride, I'm in for  that

That may slow me down a little.

Just wondering because I only have two bottle cages. I guess I'll need to bring a camelback. I'll fill it with gravy.

I'll be wearing a camelbak and have a cage bottle and aerobottle filled as well - hate to lug around extra weight, but I would rather have too much fluid than not enough.  Jerry is right - there really is nothing along Rt. 74  or US 60 until you get a couple of miles outside of Wickenburg.  Those stretches seem awfully long if you are starting to dehydrate (I learned the hard way on a century I did along those stretches).

Yes - there are a few places in Wickenburg to reload.   Supplies will be sparse (nonexistent) between points A and B, however.

Ok....I can be a Sherpa from A to B.  Would like to reload at B so I don't have to strap a cooler to my back. But I guess I can always ride up on you guys with the camelpacks and take a hit! Hahaha!

Mmmmm - nothing like warm water from someone else's Camelbak 30 miles into a long ride - refreshing!

I am not sure Wickenburg has any services - it is in Arizona after all!  However, there are several Biker Bars on US 60 that could probably offer you a drink for a dance!

My sister-in-law lives right on the US 60 near Wikieup. Maybe I can have her set out an aid station

OMG do the have kids? I would sooo be willing to pay at a "lemonade stand" aide station!!!  AND all they have to provide is cold water and I will buy it!  Oh, and they could probably make a killing selling some chocolate chip cookies, or brownies, or something. Jus sayin. :-)

If we get all the way to Wiekiup, something has gone horribly wrong.

No I maybe am wrong, its called Circle City, about 10 miles out of Surprise on the 60. Isnt that between Surprise and Wickenburg? I think she is near Whittman?

And she doesnt have kids and would probably think you are crazy! But she would be a good emergency contact out there!

Ahhhh - Wittman/Circle City - that's a different story!  That IS between Surprise and Wickenburg (I ride through there whenever I ride on 60).  However, on the route we are traveling, we will be picking up 60 near Morristown, which is 5-10 miles west of Wittman.

Of course, if she doesn't mind traveling a few miles up the road, she would be able to cash in on some tired cyclists at the intersection of 74 and 60!
