Reading J22's blog is a vicarious trip to Kona..

If I ever was to be so lucky as to get a lottery slot for the big dance, I would want to go about training exactly like he did..

Gonna be fun watching the day unfold - Can't wait!

· Pace Plan

· Easy swim - Find feet to draft off of.

· T1 (apply sunscreen to legs, neck, face; gloves and arm coolers for upperbody sun protection)

· T2 (apply sunscreen to legs again; take sunscreen and apply to arms, face, etc. while running)

· Run – Run aid station to aid station (keep pace slow until turn around on Ali'i); thank volunteers

Just wanted to throw my $.02 in.

JC & I and couple of others have been doing long runs on Sunday together for the last 6 weeks or so. The kid is ready both physically & mentally. He has told me alot about his journey and it has been pretty inspring to hear about his and his family's committment to this thing.

I wish you all the luck in the world and will be sending you some good race karma from Chicago. It'll be hard to complain during the marathon knowing that I didn't swim 2.4 miles & ride 112 before it. Kill that thing!

JC: Do me a favor. Ride up next to D. Ficker and tell her Jason Hux said hello. My brother was a college housemate of hers back at U of Alabama. He had no idea till recently that she had gone on to become famous..... or atleast to famous to us.

Focus time.. like everyone said, have fun first. This is the big dance of our sport, and you get to play. After the training you put in, you certainly deserve to be there. Good luck on the course.

Another way to look at it.. is that you may have more people watching you do this one event, than at any other time in your life, past or future.  No pressure.

Kspengler --THANK YOU!  so much for posting the updates.  I think that Jonathan forgot to switch in battery on his gps.  I saw that he is wearing it, so hopefully he will switch the battery on the run.  Here's hoping !
