I was a competitive swimmer from 3rd grade through college and then crew (rowing) through 4 years of college, so I am no stranger to working out and competing.  But after almost 30 years of life and work I just did my first Tri this last March just before my 56 year birthday (1st in my age group, yahoo), have done a 5k and 10 k run, and am now prepping for my first century ride 118 miles, and my first marathon here in Vegas.

Next year I am planning on the Silverman (Vegas' version of Ironman). I know I can do each part seperately, now to put them all together.

Do I need to win?  I am more competitive with myself and with others, and not sure how many others feel this way.....but I actually like the working out more than the organized races.  The anxiety kills me.
