Good day all, I hope you are all doing outstanding today.

I perused a few pages back and came to the conclusion that you all need help. Wink Who wants to see men racing in mankini's? Don't you realize how slow it would be to have to stop to de-wedge every few steps???? While I am partial to blue (and a pic of me in a women's dress is reportedly in the dark recesses of the internet) I will not be wearing anything by Betty Designs with cute flowers on it. I'm 6'2" and after checking the sizing chart, she does not have anything pretty that'll fit me.

Here is the end of my race this weekend:

Took you long enough to figure that out....

Yeah, I may not be the brightest crayon in the box.

You don't de-wedge. Just let er ride.

This Betty character is getting a nasty e-mail for discriminating in the sizing categories.

Yeah!  This!! Just like your thong, man, c'mon.

Chris, maybe it's just a little too soon for us to be throwing this out as a possibility.  I'll let it go, for now...

I just don't want to be racing and have someone ask if i have Pekingese in my shorts.

Busy weekend. Basically checked out for two days. Family get-together, long ride with DH, afternoon at pool with friends...lots of fun but not much down time.

I hope we get to do these rides almost every weekend. Lots of fun and they make me feel quite accomplished.  Yesterday was 49 miles over the mountain and....well, back over the mountain. Laughing We're in monsoon season so the start was really humid and DH really wasn't feeling it, but we got to our turn-around and he said he was okay to go back over. Yay!

Taking today off the bike and just doing a run tonight.

Here's a couple of pics from yesterday-

You both look so cute and so in love!!

hahaha! Thanks...9 years married and it only feels like 20 Wink

lol...we just celebrated our 9th anniversary too!  Totally understand that feeling.

After running the milk mile I have a very strong desire to run a non-milk mile. I am kind of running out of time and track meets due to my Oly coming up and everything. Likely I will only be able to do 1 more meet and MAYBE 2.

Should I

A. Run another 5000 (hopefully with properly counted laps)

B. Run the mile

C. Run the 3000

D. Run the mile then run the 5000

HA!! I don't think KQ is ever in my dreams, I like the mid range olympics.  Enough to hurt but not enough to take all my thinking and life from other areas.

If you are looking for a mile, than a mile it is. Nothing else, just a flat out flyin' mile. What kind of time do you think you'd end up with? I have my guess, but I'll wait.

Salty, saw your comment about warming up before my 5k.  I agree that it's something I need to do.  If the race starts at 7 pm, when do I do warm up?  I'll probably do about 10 minutes (is that too much?), but there is down time between finishing a warm up and starting race.  Not sure how you manage that.

I just double checked your logs, White Center 5K at 6:11's is the best I saw. Based on that I was around 5:45 - 5:50. But the more I think about it, you do have an ability to shut everything out and suffer, which would bode well for a mile. So, I'm starting to think you may be able to go under your 5:40, probably by a few seconds.

5:37 but you'd have to commit with everything you got.

Well, what have you noticed in training? You said that you usually feel warmed up a mile in? Is that accurate?

If that is the case, I would run a mile (20-30 minutes before) and then, just before it starts do a few strides and call it good.

Just for your reference, I run anywhere from 2-4 miles to warm up for a 5K, usually 45 minutes before or so. Then I do 2-5 strides, just before the competition starts

Yeah. It's really hard to say just because of this whole triathlon training thang. I definitely don't have the run mileage or focus to "exceed expectations"

This sounds like a very promising option...one skipped track practice is no big deal.  and you'll be gettin some training beni from that mile, fo sho.
