barqhead - 2008-05-05 8:24 PM I want cupcakes and enchiladas and a margarita. A big ol' frozen one. Yeah. That sounds good.

That sounds delicious. I would love a cupcake.

I just want to get sh it faced drunk and eat Twinkies.

Ive never had a twinkie but my understanding is they are not real food... just some processed stuff?

you're not missing anything

now, let's talk about ho ho's

they are the bomb!

Oh Ive had thingys like this... mini sponge rolls dipped in fake chocolate right?

Heh.  Fake chocolate, I like that.  In the industry, they prefer to call that 'confectionery coating.'

Morning Nibbs.  For breakfast I had 2 Sweet & Salty Nut granola bars...

Morning Nibbs!  I've been up way too long.  Had to take the car in for a state inspection and fixing a few small things at 7:30.  I left there at about 8:45.  Now I'm at work.  At least I had time to stop for coffee before the car appointment or I would really be in trouble.

We have one of those out here, but I've never been in it.  Thanks Jen, I think there went my healthy eating habits.  Well at least I made it through a healthy breakfast.

Mornin Nibbs... been at work for 5 hours already, okay only on the clock for half of it.  Actually dragged my lazy butt out of bed at 5 am to swim and bike this morning.  Gosh, I REALLY wanted to sleep.  Though I do feel better, but getting tired.

I rode to our outdoor pool and back in thirty minutes... boss says it's acceptable to ride there per not going out for an emergency... I thought about asking if I could still get mileage reimbursement (you know for tubes and stuff, like new seat)  but figured I wouldn't push it... so now I will get paid for training (hehehehe)... We'll see if I actually make use of it.

Tequila and Twinkies???  Um... I'm more of tequila and choc. chip cookies.

Afternoon, Nibbs. I am being bad. I am blowing off my workout for today. Bwah ha ha. And, if you find that shocking and evil, wait 'til you hear this. I ate Waffle House for lunch. Yes. It's true. I consumed cholesterol-laden bacon, eggs, toast and (gasp!) hash browns prepared at the Awful Waffle. Now I am going to attempt to clean my kitchen. Carry on.

Yum. Yum. Yum.

I want bacon. And hashbrowns. And ice-cream cupcakes.

Instead, I settled for a chocolate chip cookie from the bake sale for some student organization and I'm heading to the gym to work it off.

(Yes, Jen - the gym. I know it's gorgeous out, but it's the whole efficiency thing...I'm at work, my bike is at home, and my children are between the gym and the home. It makes sense, really... )

Heh.  TRULY evil.  When I was doing some work down in GA last year, there were Waffle Houses at EVERY freeway exit.  We'd eat there in the early morning...4am, and late at night...2 am...

I do believe that Waffle House is a Southern thing.  Out here it's either Village Inn or IHOP.  Though I do say  Waffle House was the greatest for those post drinking meals in college... Nothin' like a little vitamin G to cure the hangover.

We had a Village Inn near us when I was little in Wisconsin.  I LOVED that place. It closed when I was about 10.  Very sad.

This is not a 'poor me' post, I'm actually in quite a good mood.

It just this simple - I can get somewhat better,  but its going to take a ton of work and I'll still never be very competitive or fast, and I can 'look good' without killing myself to get ready for these races. I simply want to ride my bike and not feel pressured to go out and run all the time, or feel like 'one of these days I have to get into the pool'.

I've raced less and less starting with 2006 being the most (although most of those were 5Ks and I could easily just ride and do nothing but 5Ks). But what's the point of staying active on a tri site if you're not interested in doing what it takes to do them well? For what some of these races cost, these are a lot of nice weekends relaxing at the beach or at a hotel.

Plus, I really feel like I'm neglecting my guitar and my writing.

I'm off to lunch. I'll be interested to read the responses when I return.

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but do what makes you happy.

Running makes me happy. Very little else does. So I run. But I would run even if I didn't race, because running makes me happy. I race because it gives me the excuse to get out and run w/o Sugar Daddy throwing a fit. (Really, he's a good person, but thinks I'm a little tri-absorbed.)

If noone will throw a fit, regardless of what you do, then do what makes you happy. (And I can't imagine the blonde throwing a fit. )
