I've only had one flat.  I had a cell phone with me, but no repair kit so I called my wife to come and pick me up.

There is a training video on this site:

Hi everyone.  I woke up to a couple inches of snow this morning and a beautiful blue sky.  My next outdoor bike ride will have to wait until tomorrow or Friday.    I have a nice warm pair of Keen socks that I'm going to try out - 65% wool and thin enough that my feet will still fit into my cycling shoes.

This evening I ended up at the health club - stationary bike, some weights and a short swim.

Have a great day!!

cant say that I blame you for not wanting to go ice skating on your bike! haha...do you want me to get you a pair of booties and you can pay me back for them? I am willing to mail you a pair...they are only $15-$20 at the store! let me know...I dont mind at all!!! have a good day Dan....what are your plans since you can not ride? you gonna run? or go ice fishing?

Thanks for the offer Julie.  I have found booties on the Japanese Amazon site (Pearl Izumi brand).   I want to try out the warmer sox first.   If they are not enough, I'll order the booties.

More snow this morning (Thursday here) - just a little, but enough to make cycling dangerous.  I'm planning to get in a run and then hit the health club for a swim this evening.

hey girl...my computer does that too...

here is a solution: if you go to your start button at the bottom left hand corner of your screen and press on it...then scroll over to control panel and click - then click on network and internet connections - then internet connections - then hit the delete button - then the delete all - make sure to click on the little box that says "also delete files and settings stored by add ons. This will clean all the crap out of your computer from searches and all the various websites that you are on...and you will see your computer speed up...the only thing is...if you have password entry sites - you will have to resign into your sites such as BT, Facebook. Hope this makes sense...every time I start to bog down...I do this and it works...hope it works for you to! plus this is for my good tooo. I cant stand that you are MIA...hoping this will bring you back round more! let me know if it works! sounds like a lot of work, but it is a breeze and will totally get you going again!

Hi all...

I swam today. Hope you all were able to get some sort of training in.

This is hard for me to share with you...and I try not to burden you with my personal things, but I found this really large very hard feeling lump in my stomach today. I have an appointment tomorrow and will let you know if and when I find something out.

Try not to worry too much since you don't know anything at this point. When did you first notice this?

Julie - we are your BT family, you should share so you can have as much support as possible!

I'm asking everyone here that prays to be lifting up Julie's situation in prayer asking for good results tomorrow, there can never be to many prayers for a friend in need. I will be asking for strength for Julie at a scary time, and also that she get a good diagnosis.

I'm here for you Julie (my Jules) and so is everyone else, I hope you can feel the strenght as you walk in the Dr. office, we are with you.

If you need me I gave you my number on your blog...you can call me anytime of day or night.

Love from Indiana...Amy

Julee, I'm sending good vibes your way. Personally, I survived my mammogram this morning

I had a much better swim this morning. Something was definitely off with my nutrition on Monday.

WRT my knees, they feel fine while biking, swimming, and walking on level ground. However, they don't feel right when I go down the hill alongside my work. So, I'll be skipping tomorrow's run. If the pool has an elliptical machine I may try that early next week. Not sure how long I need to baby my knees.

I'm talking about the three strokes in between my breathing.

So I take a breath, then when my face is in the water until the next breath I can tell I rock a bit.

Mostly on the two strokes between the breaths.......

I am not joining a masters class, there is nothing like that around me.

I swim just after a senior joint swim class, so mostly when I lap swim I am in there with little older folks, not really anyone to watch underwater ! lol.......

In any event, I appreciate you trying to tell me if I am right or wrong......... and even if it is wrong it feels so right !!!! LOL LOL

I'm also not sure what you mean by "rocking". Is this rocking side-to-side or front-to-back? If it's side-to-side, then you are talking about "rolling". You definitely want to be rolling towards your side to breathe. Between breathes your face should be looking down at the bottom of the pool but it's fine for your body to roll from side-to-side. These days they talk about not swimming "flat" which is what you get if you don't roll at all.

Oh never thought about that, yes it's side to side just a bit, not OVER rotating....... not forward and back though, just a gentle kinda rock.......hard to describe lol

I paid attention to my body roll during my swim today. Your body should be rolling slightly down as your arm goes forward for its stroke. So, right arm going forward, right side dips down some, left arm going forward, left side dips down. Does this make sense?
