No one's allowed to complain about low numbers because I can GUARANTEE you beat me.

Nice pics of the kids.  My daughters always wanted to go to one of those girly stores but somehow we avoided it.  And the pic the of the blimp...does he fully suit up to play in the yard?  That's awesome.

Anyone seen the movie "Run Fat Boy Run"  Not an instant classic, but worth a watch.  Some funny stuff - training stuff I could definitely relate to.

We just watched it last week. Funny movie. When he gets out there for the 1st time with those tight shorts on it was a hoot. And the chafing gets close to home for me!

So the new Fluid trainer has a lot more resistance than my rollers.  I have a hard time maintaining 18 mph on the trainer, but was easily over 20 on the rollers.  Well, this should help for next year.

November's totals:
Bike:5h 47m 41s  - 97.67 Mi
Run:3h 51m 01s  - 17.57 Mi
Swim:1h 04m  - 5924 Yd
Strength:2h 45m

The numbers are what they are for not doing anything except therapy and biking since Beach 2 Battle.

Steve - it is my understanding the rollers help mainly on balance.  To be honest they would be more beneficial for me than him.  I have a weird twitch in my riding where every 3 seconds I do a quick weave to the left. Not sure what is going on with that.  Doug is looking into racing cyclocross next year and I thought the bike handling skills would benefit, although he already does mountain biking.  So I guess this would be a - gift for him that I want - kind of thing.  We already have a trainer and I can't afford a CT right now so I was looking for feedback.  Alternatively I was thinking of those 5 fingered running shoes that protect the soles of you feet while allowing you to "run barefoot".  Vibrams I believe they are called.  However, if any of you remember Baowolf from previous groups we gave him such a hard time about those things I don't want to face the "old timers" and admit I bought a pair.  Doug has taken to doing a little barefoot running and I think these would help.  I am being very undecided right now apparently.......

Tracy:

I would hold off on the Vibram five fingers right now. In 200 a few more companies are set to come out with their own "barefoot" shoes. This will provide a wider variety of shoes and might bring prices down.

I have an alert going for CT's (even though i have one) and I get an email anytime one is posted on a craigslist anywhere in the US. I have found them as cheap as $300 (in Henderson NV no less, and no our member there did not buy it.) If you are interested in one I will keep an eye out for you.

Well, my Novemver numbers are what they are - not going to worry about it.

I slept through my alarm set for 3:30am this morning to catch a 5:20 flight.  Woke up at 4:15 and was showered, dressed, parked, and through security in <35 mins.  This is the first time I've ever been thankful our airport is so small.  Now sitting at SeaTac waiting for my connection.

Oh Trevor, I don't curl my hair, I straighten it.  I don't wear foundation, I use a tinted moisturizer. It takes a lot to make us 40 somethings look good.....Snerk, whatever that means....

<sarc>That wasn't at all predictable... </sarc>

My only problem with this is that while yes, the man shot 4 police officers, he was shot in the back.  He did not pose an immediate threat to the officer who shot him, he was running away.  Good thing the officer had a few well placed rounds, missed shots or strays would have been bad news especially if it hit an innocent bystander.

Man I could get used to these mid 70's temps here in FL.  Starting to look for any tuneup races before Lonestar.  Maybe able to get an OWS sprint in the week before, tough to find much before april.

Boy, I am on a real taper.  This morning at breakfast, I was thinking "wow, when did I last run, anyways?" And then I remembered I had just done a track workout about an hour before that!  No kidding.  Walking the dog in between, I actually forgot.

It's a great day, people!

This song has been going through my head all day.  The Ziggy Marley version...thought I'd post it and have it go through a few of your guys' heads too!

People get ready
There's a train a comin'
You don't need no baggage you just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the diesel comin'
Don't need no ticket you just thank the Lord

I am so getting ready for this weekend!
