whoa are we talking bikes in here?

i get to buy continental tires close to at cost.  what tires should i buy?

also, i have very crusty pink bar tape.  i want zebra next!

Buy round ones and I think making bar tape out of zebras is illegal.

If you are going to break the law make it out of tiger wang.

Just because you made a tiger wang for home use out of tiger wang doesn't mean we all like tiger wang.

The Chinese love tiger wangs.

lonoscurse - 2012-08-09 10:01 AM Good morning TAN.  Coffee is good.

we are in agreement here.  about the coffee, maybe not the good morning, though.

Coffee makes the morning.  That and the fact that I saved a boatload on car insurance! Laughing

My renewal cost was just over $7k/year.  They are no longer my provider.  Gotta love the free market system. Cool

Insurance talky talk? Here's one.

My home insurance company sent me a letter earlier in the year saying I had to remove some vine growth from the side of my house. Fair enough (actually it was not fair since the rule is coverage of more than 25% of your dwelling and it was NOT, but I digress). Apparently they'd been roaming around snapping photos of houses they cover - excellent, big brother. I had until June 30 or something. Well the WEEK BEFORE my deadline, I get a letter saying that because I did not comply, I was being dropped.

When I called to ask, they back-peddled and said they send these letters out early so homeowners take care of their stuff before the policy runs out (my policy was up July 28) - basically they screwed up but never apologized. They'd even sent a copy to my bank, etc. I took care of the vines well within the deadline but I was ticked off for sure. Don't give me a deadline if you're going to threaten to drop me before it even passes!

Need to shop around but am lazy.

That one would have got them dropped on principal.  I would even pay a little more in that situation.  The idea that they are out taking pictures of your house?  Yep, that's cause for me to yank them.

I'm screwed. Since Katrina, no one will touch any home within a mile of open ocean. Legacy carriers have to keep you though. So I'm stuck paying my extortion rates to my current carrier.

They tried making us install working, permanent hurricane shutters on all windows, but the historical comissions and common sense over-ruled them.

My hurricane deductible is $1000 and doesn't cover basement flooding. But my home is finished on both levels and flood insurance doesn't cover contents. So, I pay for benefits I can never collect on.

I lose no matter what and can't stop playing the game nor change the rules.

Second day of fever and flat-out for me. Wasn't even conscious 'til 10pm (conscious meaning lying on the couch watching Olympics and BTing).

Spirits not too bad, just kinda sapped of will to do anything and feel awful. Thinking maybe flu instead of cold.

Heddo, TAN!

Yeah I'd call and say `It's not me, it's you. No really, you'll find another customer someday who will pay your extortionist rates and put up with your big brother ways and provide no real service.'

i kind of agree.  call the first guy that stuffs a flyer in your mailbox.  i get them all the time.

is the picture thing normal?  i live in a HOA, so the HOA does annual drive-bys and sends out nastygrams, but i've never heard of insurance doing that.

First I've heard of pictures and following up. You'd think the bank would care more than the insurance company.
