maggyruth - 2009-07-06 12:18 PM I didn't do a 5k on the 4th, but I did hike a 'moderately rugged' trail in sandals (oops) to see waterfalls and get engaged!!! (I think I win...Wink)

Oooh congrats!  Yeah, I think you definitely win Laughing

I totally forgot about the TS 10k!  I ran 8 miles on the 4th, so I guess I inadvertently entered the TS 13k with a time of 1:28:29.  Yeah, pretty slow, but I didn't realize I was racing Wink  Congrats to everyone on their wins!!

I've been doing Crossfit since the first of the year.  The workout above looks like something they would dream up.  The word "fun" isn't usually part of the equation.  But, you go ahead and have "fun," Saling, and let us know it goes.

Yes, my favorite parts of the workouts are the body weight ones, more so than the kettlebell swings or whatever.  On Fridays it is called Friday Fitness Fun and we can pick our own workouts.  I sometimes do the Warmup Workout, which is all of the body weight exercises (10 each of pushups, pullups, squats, dips, situps) done in as many rounds as possible (AMRAP) in 20 minutes.  Pretty much my favorite workout.

Down 4 myself and I am not sure why.  If I can just keep it up for 4-8 more.

Bikefu:  Longer will almost always trump faster.  A mile walk or run is approx. 100 cals and doesn't change much unless you are crazy fast.

down 1 pound, not my best effort but next week I will more to make up for it.

Now it is time to eat a whole bucket of KFC. Your saying to yourself don't do that, it's not good for you. But listen, it's extra crispy so its ok. see ya next week.

I have had a really rough last two days - no sleep, no exercise, lots of fast food and sweets. I'm up a few pounds, but hoping that's only temporary water weight.

My yoga teacher was talking this morning about the full moon and its effects on our bodies... I'm going to blame it on that and hope next week is better.

On the flip side, I'm also thinking about taking time off of weight loss in general for a few months. It's so hard with the baby and I'm so tired and unmotivated. I just end up feeling like crap and angry with myself, when instead I should be proud that I lost the baby weight and am staying active. I'll reassess where I sit with all this at the end of July!

Start: 145.8

Goal: 137.3

I can't remember if I said 137.3 or 137.6.  Regardless, I went the wrong direction last week, but all things considered I'm glad that's all the damage I did with all the food havoc from the weekend.

Good morning all!  Ok, this is my first weigh-in in over a month, and I came in at 137.5.  So I only gained pound despite a June-full of vacation, carbo-loading for my first oly, and then the 4th of July.  Of course, I think this makes my goal of 131 by the end of the month a little harder, but I'll still try to get as close as possible!

Saling - that workout DOES look like fun!  I love bodyweight workouts... Except for the bodyweight rows!  I hate those things Yell

205 this morning
200 goal

down 2 lbs...very happy with that considering I was hanging on to everything I ate and drank over the long weekend until yesterday...back on track now. I have to say, this has been so so interesting for me to learn how my body responds to all of this. My goal with all of this is to maintain a pretty normal social life while losing weight. So far, it has been working. Almost every weekend for the last couple of months, I have been out to dinner at least once, and had a fair amount to drink as well, and am still losing almost 2 lbs/week. Long term, I would like to get down to about 170/175lbs, and maintain that weight through continuing the tri life. Out of anything I have tried in the past, this seems the easiest (in terms of keeping at it) and most likely to stick.

Bad week.

last Week: 223.
This week: 227.

UP four pounds.

This could just be a fluctuation of water or something because my belt and pants are getting bigger, my wife has commented how I look slimmer, and I feel better than normal. I have missed the gym the last several days and I am considering doing a different schedule. I am still riding the bike to work though and I am trying out a stand up workstation. Hopefully everything combined will get me back on my way to 215 by the end of the month.  If nothing else, I am better off than when I started working out back on June 10th and I can't even imagine where I would be if I hadn't started working out a month ago.
