Ick.  Much as I hate getting up early, I do get up early to train on the weekends when I want to do my long workouts.  Probably going to start working out in the morning as it gets warmer because otherwise I have to wait until pretty late at night.

Exactly. I got up at the crack of dawn on Saturdays last summer to run long for mary training, because it gets so dang hot by 8:30 or 9. As the weather gets hotter, our team runs WILL start earlier. Just not sure why coach didn't adjust this weekend's schedule given the forecast.

How did Tanner go bcart?

Went very well. I missed my goal time by about 5:00, but it was a more challenging course than I expected, so not too disappointed. My run time was actually better than expected.

There were some heavy hitters out there, and 500 total racers. The swim start was absolutely retarded.

$20 says they shut down the entire country sometime this week. Fastest way to kill a pandemic is to let it burn out.

Twenty people is a pandemic?

Closing the border will do more than anything to stop all these new outbreaks we've had the past few years.

ETA: Oh, that's what you meant. Oops.

Glad to hear it.  I would like to have been there but the fam comes first and they didn't.  My brother was sick anyway and he actually slept for most of Saturday.  But dad smoked an a$$ load of pork that we pulled for BBQ and Brunswick stew.  I was so stuffed I didn't have room for beer or the homemade, hand churned ice cream.  It's good to go see your family and eat like a fat ba$tard every once in a while.

I really can't think of a better reason to skip watching a race. Good times.

I need to smoke a butt soon.

Did not run with a team but I honestly thought I was going to be swept away by a tornado. There was one maybe 4 or 5 miles away from me and I had to literally take shelter. Good times.

I can't believe you 'took shelter' in a Krispy Kreme and didn't at least have a coffee and a glazed blueberry or a chocolate glazed cruller.  Sometimes I'll do a little rain dance out in front of a Krispy Kreme hoping I can use it as an excuse.

I ran yesterday. It was hot. I also ended up having to run the last half on my own, and got a little lost - oops! I forgot where the trail exit was back to the neighborhoods we ran through first. Luckily, some more teammates came by and I followed them.

My dog has a 'dogbook' page!

Awww and my little sweet Bentley got hurt this weekend
I was trying to demonstrate on Tom's big dog how to brush his teeth. Well the "toothpaste" is poultry-flavored. So it's like a treat. I'm an idiot and didn't even make the connection - Ozzie is extremely terrirotorial around food and treats. I was brushing his teeth and I stopped for a sec... made a movement towards Bentley who was basically in my lap. Ozzie grabbed Bentley by the snout and attacked. Bentley screamed - he was literally being picked up by his snout. The noise he was making broke my heart. I was horrified. Since Tom and I were both there, we got Oz off of Bentley but there is a good gash on Bentley's face. I bawled for about five minutes, I was shaking. So scary, that instinct in Ozzie.

Bentley is fine, I cleaned out the wound and he was wagging his tail 30 seconds later. But he'll have a scar for awhile

Naah, he's fine. Lucky the gash is right on top of the bone in his nose and it didn't catch an eye or cheek.
It's really not that big. It just scared the be-jezus out of me.
I told Bentley that now he has a matching scar on his face just like his momma! In the same place! Both from a big white dog! Freaky, but true.

My sister just uploaded a bunch of new pics of the puppy to her Facebook - he's SOOOOO cute! They took him in the pool this weekend and apparently he LOVED it. She got video footage, which she'll show me this weekend.

I wish my dogs liked the water... they won't go near it if they can help it... which sucks because we live so close to the ocean...
