I'm looking at Lonestar, Pigman, and Redman among others. I can't reccomend Lonestar enough. Just a fantastic setting, great expo, great venue. I did the Sprint last Spring. I would love to do the HIM, but I think it's too early in the year for me to prepare to do 70.3, since I'm in the Northeast. I'm doing Bassman in October 2008, and it'll be my first HIM, unless I can convince my wife to take a trip to New Hampshire for Timberman. |

My first is going to be Liberty in Independance Minnesota. I hope that it will prepare me for a hilly half. I am still worried about racing for nearly 6 hours. I don't know what to expect from my body. Do you train full brick workouts, i.e. 90km bike followed by a 20 km run? I do most of my stuff seperate. Any thoughts? Thanks. Matt |

Also looking at doing the Big Kahuna in Sept. 2008. I'm doing the same ones, or at least I plan to. I did Big Kahuna this year as my first HIM and am hoping to improve my time next year. Wildflower DEFINITELY counts! It's one of the hardest courses out there. Or so I hear--it'll be my first time. |

I'm looking at Lonestar, Pigman, and Redman among others. I did the Lonestar Quarter Iron race in April. It was great: well run, lots of volunteers, great expo, etc. You just have to be careful on the bike leg--tons of debris, so there were a LOT of flats. jmk-brooklyn, you really had some interesting weather for your race!! Btw, sign me up for the encouragement group! I'll start adding people to my list... |
