only 2 races on the calendar right now:

lake logan HIM in august with Janyne and Lisa

im Chattanooga in September With the same pod people!

You can fix that ;-)

Randee will be in Chattanooga as well!

I had a few workouts last week where I was like "I am not doing this again!" I even wrote it down. This week I started looking at more races. Bad Janyne! Bad!

Purists will poo poo this idea and I just don't care. She'll be blowing me away on the gravel and it'll push me to improve. And, we get to spend time together, which is always cool.

Enjoy the weekend and race well if you are racing.

Purist are dumb!  I think it's great that Ann wants to trail ride with you and vice versa, so whatever is needed to get her out there and enjoying the trails is good!!

I knew that, but when i tried to double check myself I didn';t see it on her log, so i omitted her!

I am having a serious lack of motivation these days, so I too looked for more races to see if i could fix it, but i have not committed to anything. yet.  If my sister is in south florida at the proper time in June I will probably talk her into doing a sprint aqua bike -she is on run lock down, while i do a triathlon -sprint or oly.

alright alright I'll go add it.

I have ZERO motivation right now. To the point where during workouts I'm asking my self "why did I sign up for another IM?" I sure hope this passes or it's going to be a very long summer..................

It'll pass. Write down the things that you love to do and try to get more of that into your plan. For example, I really like group riding. I don't mind riding solo and I realize that is a part of tri training but I don't like to ride alone all the time so I am trying to get more group rides in this year. I don't like power-based workouts outside. I really don't. It's weird because I don't mind being beholden to my watch on a pace-based running workout or a HR-based riding workout but the power meter sucks the life out of me for some reason. I am trying to do less with the PM outside. Maybe I will come to enjoy it more.

I have an Oly this Sunday. After that I think I'm going to shelve the running shoes for the foreseeable future and shoot for an Oly distance Aquabike this summer and an HI Aquabike in the fall.

I also have my first race, an Oly tri, this Sun. I feel very under prepared but the weather's supposed to be perfect and I'm excited to get out there and push myself. With 2 young kiddos at home getting a few hours of me time is a real novelty .

For the first time in years I feel prepared & I am healthy the day before a race.

And then, I go & have a cyst (from cycling) dug into by my ob/gyn because she could get me in today. The lidocaine just wore off. OUCH!

Half marathon PR for me!

And what a fun course. Through downtown Aiken, past horse farms, through the polo fields, on dirt roads, & most shaded.

I agree. What ever it takes. I have a friend who was very active have to go to an assisted, big wheeled recumbent to keep her heart rate within reason just to go "hiking" (good thing she lives in Fla.) and has gotten a lot of guff from people.

PSA I do not recommend having a cycling cyst lanced & drained a mere 16 hours before running a half marathon. The run was fine, but the pain & discomfort now is not so awesome.

I'm joining you in the uncomfortable post race club. I ran without socks which I'm normally fine with but for some reason it hurt like a you know what after about 2 miles so the last 4 were awful. I have blisters the size of credit cards on the arches of both my feet and I'm walking like a duck. Next time I'll be wearing socks...
