After a 1:15:00 trainer ride this morning (TR "Langille") and an awesome day with the family, I was planning to settle in for the night and get ready for the Game of Thrones season premier. But the wife was busy, the baby was sleeping, and the weather was perfect so I decided to head out for a sunset run. 36:07, 4.78 mi.

Pretty stoked on this week's training. It was the most consistent week I've had in a long time with three rides, three runs, two swims and three crossfit workouts. Hopefully I can keep it going through the spring.

Mitch - how did you like your first Zwift experience? I applied for a membership but haven't heard yet.

Ran 12 miles today on some really tired wheels after yesterday's effort. Pacing was slow and the legs had little from the get go and then the hamstring acted up but sucked it up. We will see whether it was a skillful choice.

Off on Sat because my legs were sore. I guess that is what happens when you don't ride a bike for two weeks. I hit the pool on Sunday for an hour (1200 m) and got out in the afternoon for a short ride (40:40 and 15.11km) to test the Garmin 810 I picked up while in the US.

Dave - I think I requested access to the Beta on Thursday and received my invite on Saturday. I don't have a Kickr or CT. Just a regular old dumb trainer. I do have a power meter though. Good luck joining!

I thought it was very cool. Much easier to be motivated with riders to chase down and sprints and climbs to best your fellow riders on. The graphics were good and the "gameplay" was too. I can envision running a TR workout on my iPad while riding on Zwift on the laptop for the sheer entertainment and enhancement of my efforts.

Once they have other courses it will be very cool. Rides up some of the famous Tour de France climbs...that would be cool. Scheduling virtual, group rides with our mentor group that would be great too.

If you have the right hardware and bike gear I would recommend signing up for the Beta.

FYI, I requested access this morning after reading Mitch's post and just received it tonight. Now I just have to buy an Ant+ adapter for my laptop.

A couple of weeks ago I volunteered to work an aid station for a charity ride put together for Pro Athlete Amy Marsh(4 time Ironman Champion). Amy was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia last December and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. There were many pro athletes that came out to help raise funds but the most notable for me was Lance Armstrong. There were rumors circulating early in the morning that he was going to be there but most people were playing it off as just a rumor. Well, the fist team to arrive to my aid station was the Mellow Johnny team, and as they were refilling their water one of them spoke to me. The gentleman who spoke reached out his hand and said “Hello I'm Lance and I would like to thank you for helping out on today’s ride." I was a little shocked and all I could manage to reply back was "Thank you" UNBELIEVABLE!!

I also got a chance to talk to Kelly Williamson, 2014 IMTX Female Champion and she was pretty awesome. She made her way thru the crowd over to where my wife and I were standing watching the live auction and stood beside me. She too thanked me for helping out and then began to make small talk about my triathlon career. It was obvious she made her way over to us to thank us and to chit chat a little. My wife and I were very impressed that a pro athlete would go out of their way to thank a couple of volunteers. Kelly was a very kind and humble person and my wife and I are now HUGE fans. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that she is a fellow Texan hailing from Austin!

Amazing experience.

Went to the Ranger's opening day game (first opening day game for me ever!). The prices were so much better this year
Bought a new car. This one will fit my bike. Which means saying good bye to my favorite sports car and I sold my motorcycle.
Oh yeah, and I ran twice and biked once. I missed the bike ride because buying a car literally takes the whole day and I felt pretty used up by then.

Race is less than a week away, gulp!

Bike fit day. I'm gonna be so fast ;-)

Dennis, so glad you enjoyed volunteering. Kelly Williamson is about as humble as anyone I know. Glad you got to meet her. Lance, well, he's Lance.

Adding yesterday's swim and run. Garmin had a corrupt swim file, so entered it manually.

~60' on Zwift Island (6 laps on the bike). Strava file below. Definitely a neat way to ride, I tried watching videos on my iPad while riding but kept getting distracted by the Zwift riders and my times on the sprint and climbs. Had a fun finsih to one lap where three of us were sprinting to the finish. I wanted it a bit more...

Adding run from last night. It technically took me like 50+ mins for 3 miles but that was because I stopped to call animal control. A new running partner found me and I didn't want him to get hit by a car or have him run with me through busier streets. we ran up and down 1 street like 10 times waiting for animal control. Good runner, I couldn't keep up and he stayed right with me. When the lady finally got there he jumped right in the truck with her.

I'll take the turtle pace and the karma points

adding 40 mins because that's about how much moving time I had...I think?

Dennis, what an experience! I still don't know what to think about Lance, quite frankly, those elite athletes don't inspire me at all, they seem to belong to a different world, but it is still really cool to have brush with royalty.

Beth, congratulations on a new car, if you don't mind me asking, what is it?
