Holy carp - then SOB who started this whole thing skipped the entire month of August!?!?

Aren't we all suckers?

Anyway - I've dropped 10 pounds in 2 months - well below my goal so far, but slow-but-sure I'm getting there:

 

7/14/2008: 199.5

7/21/2008: On vacation

7/28/2008: 196.5

8/4/2008: 197

8/11/2008: 196.5

8/18/2008: 195.0, finally the yo-yo isn't going so far back up the string.

8/25/2008: 191.0

9/1/2008: 189.0

I know I am starting Late, but I would like to join...I tried loosing last year, but work and school got busy, and I stopped, so hopefully I will stay motivated this time. I started off a year ago at 166.Embarassed I started trying to lose weight again recently.

Last Monday (8/25) 146

This Morning (9/1) 145

Need to get to 135 to get to the normal BMI range (I am way too short to so heavy)

Ultimate Goal - 125

So far so good.  This past week was tough: the pool at the Y was closed for cleaning all week, and missed my end of the week run due to some pain behind my knee (in the crook of the back of my knee).  Since I couldn't run or swim on Friday or Saturday, I did some resistance training instead.  I'm thinking it's time to start incorporating a little of that into the weekly routine...

Can't wait to get back into the pool this week.  Supposedly my Masters swim team sessions starts this week (once per week with the team, two workouts on our own time), so that'll be great.  Plus, the knee feels much better now. I'm looking forward to resuming the Couch to 5K program.   

The wife wants us to start spin classes. I realize it's not quite the same as the real deal (I'm not looking to start a debate ), but for someone who doesn't own a bicycle (and won't until Christmas, probably) it'll be as close to cycling training I can get for a while... and hey, it all adds up, right?

Did a little better this week. Only had 1 bad day.  Scale has been bouncing from 172 - 175 this week. Think it's the salt. Yesterday it was up more than I wanted, but will happily take the loss!

*Thanks Merlyn.  Can't give any details, sadly, this is not a new problem.  May give FitDay a try though.  You should definitely take the Spinning class with your wife!  I'm sure she'd appreciate you two doing something beneficial together.

Wound up taking last week off from my training to heal up a bit. Nothing more than some walking and a couple of very light strength workouts. I was careful to keep close watch on what I ate to avoid a backwards slide. Oddly, wound up losing more this week than the previous week... ?

Great job, Rev--looks like you just passed a milestone, there!

Rev--no sweat, bud.  You passed the milestone and then backed up to hit a snack stand, and now just have to get back on the road and pass the milestone again.

Slow but sure.  Splurged at the grocery store and bought a container of precut veggies: brocc, cauliflower, etc. and another of celery.  Made a big difference this week when I had the muchies.  Meet the trainer tomorrow for the first time since getting the all clear from the doc.

I hate that when it happens. I have a cheap dial scale, it happened to me this morning and I swore I would go get a new digital one. Maybe they will be more accurate.

Tou are doing great job down 19 lbs. I am only 3lbs from my sept 22 goal of 245. Just a walk in the park the next two weeks. After I hit that I am headed for 225 by first of the year!

Dropping slowly every week..going to try to exersize a little more and watch what I eat. Maybe I can start two lbs a week. Had a goal of 245 when this challenge I am going to make it.
