I think I forgot to mention that I got my 10 mile run done yesterday.  It felt pretty good even though I raced the day before!

Oye!  I ran a 2 mile women's race today.  I pushed baby in the stroller.  We finished in 15:41.  That hurt!  I got 2nd in the stroller division and 11th of 231 ladies!  Whew!

Congrats!  That's awesome baby placed in their first race!

Oh, that wasn't his first race.  We have done a few together.  We did this race last year when he was 6 weeks old.  I think it is going to be our tradition until he can't ride in the stroller anymore.

Nice!  He'll be a racing pro by the time he's done with that stroller Smile

Awe, that's so awesome.  Kiddos are usually so good outside and in a stroller, too.  Mine always loved it

crews - 2010-06-07 10:04 AM Welcome to the week, folks.  I hope this one stays low key for me.  I was supposed to ride the Tour de Rock century next weekend, but I just do't think I can.  I'm going to drop back to the 100k.  It's frustrating to have ridden so many miles, and still not be able to do it.  I rode 50 this weekend, and just couldn't imagine doing 50 more.  DEpressing!

Hope everyone has a great week.
Go Team 3!!!

I did a metric century yesterday and still can't imagine riding another 38 miles! I still can't imagine racing 56 miles and then running another 13!

I'm a little fatigued today but not bad.  I'm glad Monday's are mellow.  I didn't do the 5 mile race because I REALLY wanted to get my 10 mile run done.

tri808 - 2010-06-05 11:05 PM might need to adjust my goals this month.  Crashed on the bike today after running over a good sized branch (effectively it was like running over the barrel of a baseball bat) hammering 25 mph down a flat.  Couldn't see it coming with the 2 riders in front of me narrowly missing it and went over the bars.

Not sure how...but I only have some road rash on my left arm.  My shoulder is completely fine, and didn't hit my head.  My bike is actually fine too.  Lost an end cap on my brakes, but that's it...the bike ended up getting tangled in my legs so it didn't go flying.

Swimming might be totally out of the question for a couple weeks as one of the scrapes is fairly deep, and the thought of showering a couple extra times after working out just doesn't sound fun in the next few days.

I can't complain though...if you told me the circumstances, I would have guessed a separated shouder, broken collar bone, and a concussion.

Oh my!  Reading this it sounds bad...   Glad to hear that you weren't hurt too bad.

MDHillSlug - 2010-06-06 4:43 PM I did 64 miles of riding today as part of the American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure. I rained, it was cool, but it could have been a lot worse. So far I've raised $1500 but I'm still taking donations. Could you help? Thanks!

Great job on the ride!  Sorry the weather wasn't better around here...  I'll have to speak to my BIL, the weatherman...

disturbed275 - 2010-06-06 12:34 PM My sprint tri went pretty well today.  Ended up 29th out of ~700 people.  5th in my AG.  They are pretty generous handing out hardware so I got to take home a super sweet piggy bank!

nice placing in your race

You should put a sticker on that piggy bank that says "new bike fund"...LOL

I love this!

Got back earlier today from my long weekend in DE/PA...  Didn't get much done training wise Embarassed but I'm still exhausted!  Was up late packing Friday night.  Saturday was driving, hanging with my family and the Phillies game.  And it happened to be my 7 year anniversary!  Sunday was helping my Granparents clean out their house (they are seriously downsizing houses next month) and then my cousin's wedding.  This morning we fought out way through Philly to take my daughter to a doctor's appointment at CHOP before, driving home.   I can't figure out how the kids weren't more tired tonight!  Maybe they are still on a high from yesterday's wedding sweets...

I did get a short bike in but seriously need to go to bed now..  Back on track tomorrow!

We saw Ironman brand mattresses today! No kidding, the actual Ironman branding on a memory-foam type mattress set. It was really comfortable, but whooo boy the price tag. A king set of the spendy ones was $2999! They refer to them as T3, and use the terminology 'recovery' to refer to the memory foam action. Kinda cool.

HAHAHA...I assume that it's okay to have a T3 time of 8-10 hours.

Rode my bike to work again today, despite the light rain.  My group swim tonight is actually getting canceled because of the rain... And also there's a rip current alert for today.  So I think I'll take the opportunity to take a rest day from formal training (besides bike commuting since I'm already at work with my bike).

I wish I could get at least 7 hours in T3, but our new bedroom is on the east side of the house. Lots of light, very early. Maybe I'll get used to it?

That's pretty funny!   My running stroller is an Ironman by BOB!
