now there is something to be proud of!?  and we crushed artemis's team to get there.  perfect.

Why didn't screwing off in Schenly Park pay off for me, yet these guys are champions? I was ahead of my time.

when i was in school, the ultimate kids played on the cathedral lawn.

schenley park was for more........george michael type screwing around.....

Well, we once did get the headlights one night from from Pittsburgh's finest in the middle of a romantic moment. But the hill was for stoners, coolers, boom boxes and frisbees.

German.....

At least that would be my choice.

So you'll probably go with Italian based on that.

What makes it hard is that my next trip to Europe will include visiting BOTH germany and italy.

And I did register for the Italian before I saw your post.  Why did you pick German?

I would have picked Italian, but mainly because I love hearing the sound of others when they speak in Italian.

Are you using a language program through work or something like Rosetta Stone, or...?  (I've always wondered if that Rosetta Stone program actually works... I'd like to learn Spanish, or re-learn French, or start Italian, or Japanese...

i'm using livemocha - it is web-based and you can practice speaking with other members who are native speakers, so pretty neat program.  of course, i can just practice italian with my boss and german with...80% of my company.  i will let you know how it works - i'm getting it for free but it is MUCH cheaper than rosetta stone and i've seen groupons for it a lot.

I haven't heard of livemocha, but I'm going to go check it out now.  I've seen Groupons for Rosetta Stone, but even WITH the Groupon it's still ~$250 or so which I'm just not about to spend.

Definitely let me know how it goes - I really would like to be able to speak more languages than just Canadian, American, British, and Australian.

I lived in Sandhousen (which is near Heidelberg) but went to school in Mannheim on the Army base.

Both of my parents were DoD teachers.....we lived in The Philippeans, England, and Germany for a total of 10 years.

The first time I went to school on American soil, I was a Jr. in HS.....

Awesome!  Change is good as long as it isn't change for the sake of change... but if it's something you want, don't hold back. Go get it!!

I love coming back into work after a few days' vacation. It's so calm, quiet and peaceful - really able to get things done.
